the air gap is just to get more bang for your buck. I'm putting an additional 4" air gap behind my monster traps to get more low end absorption. How are you liking the alpha's?

So the 4 inch studio foam only basically take care of the hi’s and mid’s?

Barely the mids - mostly the highs.
