I asked Marty about this track when I went to one of his guitar clinics a few years ago. The parts that don't really sound like Marty are intentionally played that way because he was trying to emulate Jason's style.
He is the man that made me switch to 10 - 52 in 1992. The sound, the BENDS the attitude, the emotion. And Dragon'kiss still playing on my sono. Marty, thank you.
@@dimeghost243 hahaha I just read that comment and was like 'omg I see it, too!' and saw that he said that 11 years ago and you said it just 5 days ago
music of the god's,for the god's...:-) we miss you jason and marty...we miss you cacophony:-(..but you're still a glowing beacon for us guitar mortals..
Carmine Coppola "Theme from the Black Stallion" 1976. I was watching this movie for a couple of minutes before I heard this song (roughly) come on 20 years before it was covered by becker and friedman. I like their version a lot better.
Marty NEVER sold out, he's a guitar god. A living legend, because his life went to Japan and he left megadeth doesnt mean he sold out. He LOVES playing guitar, he lives for it. He always has. He never sold out, he just went away from Metal that's all. You should all bow to the god that is Marty Friedman.
I learned some of it but it was 12 years ago 🤣 I play guitar from time to time but not that often anymore... I don't even have an electric guitar anymore so hahaha
Don't tell me Jason Becker has no soul in his music... There were a lot of guitarists faster and more accurate than Jason but the great feeling is what made him so fameous. Of course Marty is a genious as well, no doubt about it.
music of the god's,for the god's...:-) we miss you jason and marty...we miss you cacophony:-(..but you're still a glowing beacon for us guitar mortals.. 1:00-1:04.....bonerrrrrrrrrrrr
i think marty's has changed a lot, but i still prefering his works at cacophony whit his magical carvin v220 you guys will agree whit me if u watch his jam session whit becker

Such a small views for a deep soothing tune. Don't know if people are still listening to this but it's been my jam almost everyday.
i hear marty's guitar is calling Jason, like sadness
Marty Friedman And Jason Becker Are
Two Guitar Legends
I think the fact that he's now playing what he wants to play and not just playing what his fans want is pretty admirable.
Marty and Jason wrote it together. Marty wrote this after Jason became ill. It's a tribute.

That's definitely Marty. I can picture him doing his jaw movement while listening to it. Great tribute to Jason
BROTHER I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE!!!
lol dude I totally know what you mean!

The original is on The Rasberry Jams by Jason Becker... it's apparently some jam of Becker and Friedman from their time together in Cacophony
the pic of marty matches this song so good!
probably how he'd have looked like while he recorded this
soul touching...
thanks for jason becker give as the happyness of listening his geniality!!!
thanks man
most incredible guitarist ever, jason becker

prefect!
music of the god's,for the god's...:-)

Amazing!
Thanks for posting this.

I came back to listen this again after 9 years
So did u learn them?
Did u learn it
I learned some of it but it was 12 years ago 🤣 I play guitar from time to time but not that often anymore... I don't even have an electric guitar anymore so hahaha
@Nunez87 youre right, he loves his music and guitar, he plays what he wants, not for money or to be soll-out. He just loves his music.
Agreed.
yes it does
exactly.
i think we all miss jason very much =( marty too
@soapywater yes its on jason becker raspberry jams
four years and 0 dislikes... nice
Yer man 2:20 was just tears on guitar. Incredible feeling he put into this
5 years ...
Both versions are good on their own way.
hermozo
Although a tribute to Jason it is a little sad to not hear Jason playing.
Listening to it I can say it is good but it is simply lacking Jason
Marty adds a lot of emotion in his playing and that is what I like about him
que chevere
they should make him a billion dollar man, with mechanical arms so he can play again with his thought movement from his awesome mind.
this is shear genius
I AGREE WITH YOU EXCEPT WITH "WENT AWAY FROM METAL", THAT S ABSURD, SEEMS U DONT HAVE LISTEN THE LAST ALBUMS
Yea
its obviously marty if you've listened to his other works
It was Marty and Jason on the original track from the raspberry jams, right?
this is a 2002 version? is there another person playing with Marty?
Esta version de marty empieza en el minuto 2:04.
wow! I really love this song! Original is better though...
Where did you get this? is it on one of marty's cd's?
@Megadeth72 Marty+Jason=Gods of the gods.
what!?!?!?
yngwie did that?
tell us more
Interesting, the way i always saw it as a kind of dude ranch song. Probably hence the name Black Stallion
Marty def misses jason becker. You can tell. Jason was martys best jamming partner.
damn marty.. .. just .. damn man.. how is anything supposed to follow that?
Don't tell me Jason Becker has no soul in his music... There were a lot of guitarists faster and more accurate than Jason but the great feeling is what made him so fameous. Of course Marty is a genious as well, no doubt about it.
@Megadeth72 titans?
At least Marty remembers Jason, they were like gods of the guitar, now he plays that JPop... : /
oh yeah this is all Improvised too, thats what marty was best at
Did anyone notice the beatles reference in the end? My guitar gently weeps...
beautiful this song makes me so sad sometimes =/ i do like the original with becker better though
music of the god's,for the god's...:-)
we miss you jason and marty...we miss you cacophony:-(..but you're still a glowing beacon for us guitar mortals..

aunq prefiero el original pero esta muy bueno este
i think marty's has changed a lot, but i still prefering his works at cacophony whit his magical carvin v220
you guys will agree whit me if u watch his jam session whit becker
too much delay i guess ?
ahahhahaha
agreed
@Megadeth72 : the answer would be lots of guitars..not even gods can get to that level :P
The original version is way bettre
@Megadeth72 marty + jason= cacophony
doesnt come close to bieng as satisfying as the original, and poor guitar tones :(
such an empty song without becker...
+Whaleform give the guy some credit, he is playing it for Becker. I enjoyed the tune.
i give him tons man, he rocks..
This was taken from Warmth in the Wilderness
I guess.
It was a Jason Becker tribute album
martys solo albums beat megadeth all the way
no it don't
es re bueno pero el original mejor
@Megadeth72 CACOPHONY!!!!!!!!! it's better than god, jesus, the beatles all that crap.
I have their first record it's awsome!!!!
106 people proof that dislike button should remove form this vid
:P
this really doesnt' sound like marty. It sounds like someone trying t copy Marty
Sorry but I like the original better!! besides this song must only be played clean, no distortion
Fantastic playing, out of this world, but a bit of a rubbish tone
Yes they are, bullshit compared to Megadeth, but I say JPop to not sound too bad.
yngwie didn't do it?
then he is not a great musician
If you mean Loudspeaker, yes I've heard. It doesn't have anything of metal dude ¬¬. Go to hell if you prefer that bullshit JPop than Megadeth.
comenzo muy bien..despues quedo feo cuand entro la guitarra con distorcion...
