    Hi and thanks for the layout overview. While I'm personally not a huge fan of running in circles (but that's always a matter of taste of course), this still looks like a nice place to have some switching ops. Will be interesting to follow a long and check out the scenery work as well. Subscribed.

      @SpringfieldAndWestern Thank you! I'm a bigger fan of switching out industries but from time to time I just want to watch a bigger train run around.

    nice pike, devin !!! imho, that double track siding at 1:27 would be a great place for a ferrous metal/ ev battery recycling facility. i just added one to my layout and it surely adds a ton of action while creating an industry that a lot of guys do not model. nothing worse than seeing something everyone else models !!! also, again imho, at 2:52 where you have what is going to be your largest industry, you might want to have 2 industries , one large and one relatively small just to add more "switching fun" to that zone !! your wye is really nice, too, with a great location !!! as far as my ferrous metal/ev recycling facility goes, it recycles electric vehicle car batteries ( the type that actually powers the car...not the start-up only type)... this kind of facility creates what the recycling profession calls "black mass", which is a lithium/nickle/manganese/cobalt mixture that is chemically extracted from the spent ev battery and fits nicely with the ferrous metal recycling aspect. ferrous metal and those 4 chemicals from the spent ev car batteries are purchased from the plant by the original car manufacturer to make even more ev batteries !! i am quite sure plants like this will be popping up everywhere in canada and the u.s. as electric vehicles become more and more popular !!! WOW !! you asked for ideas... i guess i went overboard a bit !!! keep 'em rollin', my friend !!! denny p.s. devin, if you are interested, google it and you will find a ton of information and ideas for this type of plant... i am glad i did !!!

      Thanks for the ideas. Looks like I'm going to have to do some mode research and thinking!

      @@ByeBye257 yes, devin, researching various industries for our layouts is an important part of our hobby. by picking the right industries we stay interested longer and go through less bullsh-- !! i really try to make buildings/facilities/etc different from what all the other modelers have, which is almost always "right out of the box" stuff... kitbashing is fun and helps make unique buildings on our layouts !!! i also have a problem with layouts that are totally clean and impeccable looking. real railroads can be pretty shi--y looking at times !!! keep up the good work !!!

      @hasstafford1656 Hi, if asking about the wye, the parts are as follows. The Wye (Kato 20222), 4 13 11/16" 30° curves (Kato R348-30), 1 #6 Right Turnout (Kato 20203), 1 #6 Left Turnout (Kato 20202), 2 Straight 9 3/4" (Kato 20000) and Straight 1 15/16" (Kato 20092 set)
      Otherwise, turnouts on the layout are all #6 except for the 1 wye.
      Just a note you will need to do some type of isolation on the wye section as the polarity crosses over. It will short your whole layout when you run trains across a certain point otherwise. I'm doing DCC, and I'm using the Digitrax AR1 Auto Reverser. If you're doing DC, I would recommend looking at a video about wiring a wye. As that is done a little differently

      @hasstafford1656 Well, it sounds like you already have planned ahead. Now it's time to get the track out, start building, and let the fun begin!
      If you have any other questions, just let me know.
