its give or take a few feet because it doesnt start from the ground, the ball is roughly 6ft high and we dont know how much it compresses, plus it depends on how accurate the starting of the timer is. but thats roughly 90 ft no matter what which is impressive

As the ball falls, air will find a pocket therefore either changing its course all together or theoretically slowing it down due to drag caused by air resistance
I don’t do science but people are surprised by how much I actually know about.
Aerodynamics, gravitational force and rotational forces are things that play a specific type of role when an object of any mass is moving vertically, horizontally or diagonal. Every object falls at different speeds and this depends on three major factors in which are shape, size and weight/density.

Maybe you take the rim of a trampoline and make the bouncy part flex tape instead and just see how strong flex tape really is by dropping increasingly heavier objects onto it!

I was thinking that the friction with the tube was probably causing some unintentional magnus effect and would have made a good opportunity for Science with Gaunson.
There was a ton of movement on that sleeve. Needed to be more secure to be any help

@@VonOzbourne Same thought. Kept wondering if it would have helped make it more consistent if they added a strip of grip tape down the chute. That way the balls would have a more controlled spin. I guess airsoft players know what that can be like, though in this case it wouldn't be as dramatic as hop up, just (hopefully) more consistent.

Or footage at that. propane exploding makes 100 ft pounds per square inch for about half a football field for comparison that would be like having a fll grown polar bear stand on you. For calculating the height you should use Height = 1/8 *g * (Time to land)^2, makes it much easier to calculate the time since you don't have to "guess" when the ball is at the apex, you can just measure the time between the thuds. Will make it both faster and more accurate to calculate distances :)
Yeah good point. Sometimes the ball hits something on the way down though so maybe it makes sense to be consistent

I assume he is big because i imagine that why they made the product for it to be very big, if it wasnt big then they wouldnt make profit and if it wasnt big then it wouldnt be big which is going back to my original point, it being the whole reason for the product. Like if it wasnt big then it wouldnt be able to be advertised as the biggeat exercise ball now would it? It is red because it absorbs the light of every colour apart from red which is reflects, it does this because they used certain materials etc that reflect red light. I imagine this is because they do not want big red to not be big and red. So yes, he is big and he is red!

Here’s how you fix the tube...
Every time Heron put a bowling ball in the tube, the ball brushed lightly against the side which gave it a random slight directional rotation. That’s why it never hit centre til you lost the tube. Same thing happened with the old musket balls til they rifled the barrel. You want an accurate drop through a tube? Then rifle the inside of the tube. Problem solved.
Every time an item fell from the tower and bounce off the trampolines y’all’s scream at the end cracked me up 😂😂😂😂😂

Edit: If it's easy, it would be great to have those measurements in feet for those of us who deal with the terrible US Standard System. Just a thought.
A meter is about equivalent to a yard and three inches, so for example, the 28 should be about 30 yards 1 foot.
The way that I generally do it in my head is to times the number of meters by 3 and then divide by 12. That will give you the extra feet and inches that should be added to the yards at that point.

When you get the phantom camera, I think it would be a great addition to briefly record yourselves responding to the slow-mo footage and play that in the background (like the Slow Mo Guys do). Really makes stuff like that a lot more fun to watch, especially because pretty often, things look kinda weird or unexpected

Also, it is the Gravity Discovery Center. I am sure HR has contributed to some of their exhibits with all the crazy stuff they've done, and I'd be willing to bet the professionals at the center have gotten a lot of good film to analyze from the channel.
They had a meet the How Ridiculous Dudes day a bit ago, so yea I think the center is getting a bit of a boost off the guys. Which is awesome because they are an INTERACTIVE science center, wish we had those in the states.

I think that strapping your launch pipe at the bottom and the top, instead of just the middle, would lead to it being more steady and getting more repeatable results. Just a thought.

Video Idea: Make a small shelter out of nothing but flex tape, and drop different items on it until it breaks. You can name your video: Pushing Phil to the limit!
Another one you could do is to make a rope out of flex tape, tie one end to a car and the other end to another car, and both can drive forward, pulling the rope to its limit.
