Hey cool video. I have a suggestion for the latch problem. Using a suitcase strap seems like it would work great. Adjustable in size and they have the buckle opening and would be fast and easy to use. That's how I keep my senior dog's foldable buggy to stay closed, got one at a dollar store!
Awesome, I’m glad to hear that! If you’re planning to keep it outside, I’d use an exterior grade paint. It will hold up better than an interior grade paint, but it won’t last forever. If it gets rained on here and there, it’s not a big deal. But if you keep it outside 24/7, you should plan to repaint it as needed.
the colored area has to do with the touch area the dog has to touch before contueing. (they are not allowed to jump over that area) in short has to do with agility rules 😀
Love the video! I have a very large dog that I think would love this! Might have to alter it to make it a tad bigger!! Thanks so much for sharing, it’s so much easier to visualize when someone else does it first!!!
Thank you so much - glad it was helpful! Yea, you'll want to make it bigger/wider for a larger dog - the wider it is, the more stable it will be. Thanks for watching!!
The painted areas are contact zones. In competition the dog has to make contact with these areas at the start and end to avoid a fault time penalty - it has nothing to do with the dog seeing it as a ramp. Also note that the A-frame should be non slip surface and anti-slip slats should not be within 15.2 cm of the start of the contact area.
Funny you should say that - I’m actually working on the plans right now! It will include all the dimensions and a list of everything needed. I’ll reply back to you when I have them ready 😃
Abby - so sorry, life got in my way - but I FINALLY have the build plans ready for download - www.etsy.com/listing/1309809078/diy-agility-a-frame-for-dogs-build-plans?ref=listings_manager_grid I made the plans for a slightly wider ramp but you could easily modify a few dimensions to make it slimmer if you'd like. again, really sorry it took so long to finalize these!
You didn't put screws to secure the end blocks with the hinges to the plywood deck. That would make the hinge assembly anchors stronger and resist rotation.
thank you for this barktastic video ! my hooman is going to try making this because i wuv agility , there are a couple of videos on my channel if anypawdy would like to see a sausage doing agility x 🥰
Great instructions. I have a lot of DIY agility equipment but not an A-frame. The only thing else I have to comment on is that the background "music" was repetitive and annoying. Better to leave it out altogether.
I believe at the time it was about $85 total. But that was over a year ago before lumber prices increased. Click on the link in the video description for the project page and I should have a list/link to all the items and materials you’ll need to build this. Let me know if you have any other questions! 😃

Ahh gotcha, that makes sense! Thanks for clarifying!

Cool thanks for posting! We might just be making one of these! :)
Glad you enjoyed it! Yea, go for it, it’s pretty easy!
What length chain did you use on each side? Thanks
@@OpIndependence 7.5 feet long chain on each side. I cut a 15’ chain in half.
How long are the peaces of wood? 12 foot
Each side is 6’ long so the entire length is 12’. Thanks for watching!

Great idea, thank you!

Who you calling screw eyes?
🤣
The music volume on this video it too loud. It makes it hard to hear what you are saying .
My eye hooks keep breaking
Looks like a great video but CANNOT HEAR YOU. And the volume is ALL the way up. Disappointed.
I appreciate the feedback
Your hand is so damn close to the blade dude. Gives me anxiety watching you
sometimes the camera angle makes it look closer than it actually is, but I appreciate the concern 🙂
Awesome video. Beautiful Merle you have there too!
Thank you very much! 😃
