    Hey cool video. I have a suggestion for the latch problem. Using a suitcase strap seems like it would work great. Adjustable in size and they have the buckle opening and would be fast and easy to use. That's how I keep my senior dog's foldable buggy to stay closed, got one at a dollar store!

    • @DoingWhatever
      @DoingWhatever  2 года назад +1

      That's a great idea! Thanks, I'm definitely going to do that 😃

  • @cle2182

    This is very usefull, thank you! Can you also keep it in the rain? And what kind of paint do you use if you want to keep it outsite?

    • @DoingWhatever
      @DoingWhatever  Год назад

      Awesome, I’m glad to hear that!
      If you’re planning to keep it outside, I’d use an exterior grade paint. It will hold up better than an interior grade paint, but it won’t last forever. If it gets rained on here and there, it’s not a big deal. But if you keep it outside 24/7, you should plan to repaint it as needed.

    the colored area has to do with the touch area the dog has to touch before contueing. (they are not allowed to jump over that area) in short has to do with agility rules 😀

    • @DoingWhatever
      @DoingWhatever  Год назад +1

      Ahh gotcha, that makes sense! Thanks for clarifying!

    • @DoingWhatever
      @DoingWhatever  3 года назад +2

      Thank you so much - glad it was helpful!
      Yea, you'll want to make it bigger/wider for a larger dog - the wider it is, the more stable it will be. Thanks for watching!!

  • @thehomme
    @thehomme 4 года назад +7

    The painted areas are contact zones. In competition the dog has to make contact with these areas at the start and end to avoid a fault time penalty - it has nothing to do with the dog seeing it as a ramp. Also note that the A-frame should be non slip surface and anti-slip slats should not be within 15.2 cm of the start of the contact area.

      I made the plans for a slightly wider ramp but you could easily modify a few dimensions to make it slimmer if you'd like. again, really sorry it took so long to finalize these!

  • @edc3179

    You didn't put screws to secure the end blocks with the hinges to the plywood deck. That would make the hinge assembly anchors stronger and resist rotation.

    Great instructions. I have a lot of DIY agility equipment but not an A-frame. The only thing else I have to comment on is that the background "music" was repetitive and annoying. Better to leave it out altogether.
