    Body/Chassis:
Body was unusable because of the amount of rust, so a new tub was needed.
Stripped down to bare chassis, media blasted, and powder coated frame.
New steel body is Rino-lined in and out.
Steering box is cleaned, sealed, finished in cast coat iron and reused.
    Drivetrain:
Original 304 cu in V-8 showed good even compression and was resealed and reinstalled
Engine is painted Chevy orange, old school headers were ceramic coated and reused
The three speed transmission was boiled out, resealed and reused
CJ-7 differentials upgraded with front and rear disk brakes, and all new hardware and cables
    Suspension:
    New leaf springs
    One-inch suspension lift
All suspension bushings are upgraded to poly-graphite
    Exterior:
Exterior paint is an “incorrect” Moca Brown, which has more pop than the stock muddy brown
    New Bestop top
    Interior:
Upgraded heated seats with three point harnesses
Roll over loop was retained and powder coated
Instruments were calibrated, cleaned and reused
Pull cables are very had to find, so Edelbock universal choke cables were polished, fitted to the dash for a functional, operational and esthetic choice
Polished knob was found and used for the fan switch to make the dash controls uniform
Steering wheel is of a stock looking variety
Shifter is a Hurst T-handle that was previously used on the Jeep

I have a golden eagle like it in 84. 304, 4speed that would fly. I later got a renegade with a 403, three speed when I was in the Army. Today I'm on the lookout for a 78 to 82 CJ5 with a 304, 4speed pref, but three is ok. I need to build it, love it, and take it to the mud!

I love when people have a vision, and make that vision come true!
    Well done.

I had an original Golden Eagle ran it like a Jeep on/off road including pulling a trailer. Nice job just like to see the original graphics. But it’s Your Jeep your way. Happy trailing.

Beautiful Jeep...except for the graphics...IMO would have looked sooo much better without them.

Nice restoration, but engine and brake calipers colors are incorrect! The graphics look a bit too much... but the owner can do whatever the hell he wants anyways!!!

I could tolerate some of the bling in paint job, but you lost me at the red/white/blue thing on left rear corner, jacked up body mounts, and the Jeep logo in cursive.

I love the old jeep CJ’s I have an 86 CJ seven but I always wanted a CJ five my question is why were later model CJ fives Bill without tailgates I thought our jeeps had tailgates

    • @1246kenny
      @1246kenny 4 года назад

Remy Lopez the base models had tailgates intended to carry cargo while the higher trim levels such as Laredo, renegade, Levi’s had a back seat for passengers and no tailgate.

Ruined the entire build with all the graphics. Eagles look cartoonish. Who is this for? A 10 year old boy?

gary rimington If you knew your jeep history youd understand what was done here. Im not to crazy about the choices But i get the foundation.
The Jeep in curcive script is the hidden Jeep script on flatfender before Willys had a legal claim to the name. I wont tell you where Willys hid it on production flatys. If youve ever owned 40s or 50s rra Jeeps you know about the trench art often found in repairs and mods. I think the home made GE graphic here fits perfectly in the old school trench art theme. Not my thing but I get whar inspired the owner.

      gary rimington -
-run a net search for the hidden jeep script and the story behind it.most" jeepers " have never seen it or know why its there. It may take a couple trys on net to find a good accounting.
