Pristine Yunnan: Celebrating Munao Zongge Festival with the Jingpo people

- Celebrated by the Jingpo ethnic group, Munao Zongge Festival starts on the 15th day of the first lunar month. As the most important music pageant, thousands of the Jingpos participate in the festival every year in Longchuan County, Yunnan Province. Performances include sword dance, Yinpao dance, which shows the beauty of the Jingpo women, and songs that express their respect for mountains.

We have Jingpaw/Singpho community in Northeast India as well. So proud of them
Chinese really know to choreograph well and present themselves. They have improvised traditional dance steps of many tribal communities like Jingpho, Monba, Lhoba, etc.

Yunnan is our ancestor of the Indonesian people. they entered 2000 year before jesus cristh born. You can see yunnan people in nias island,dayak. This is firts wave yunnan in indonesia.

One old man from the Jingpho ethnic group once told me that the Jingpho and the Chins aka Zo people of Myanmar are related and are siblings. The Chin being the older one and the Jingpho being the younger one.
I see Many mizo/ Kuki chins tries to connect origin with jingphos which is the majority ethnic in kachin.
As being neighbours to chingphuk people or jingphos/singphos for centuries, let me tell you that most kachins including jingphos /singphos have adopted tai shan cultures in many aspects of their lives.
Khaku are our nearest jingpho group and according to our history they are the younger brother of us aswell.
And some of our brothers went to southwards who became the lushais/mizo/chin etc as well as other tribes speaking kuki-chin dialects even the meiteis/manipuris /southern nagas etc.
Our group is known as tangshang naga or Northern naga.
And our dialects are very similar to singpho /kachin. Major differences is the tone which the singphos/jingphos who migrated plainwards have been influenced by the tai-shans.
Many tangshang villages are also under kachin province in Myanmar.

Jingpo ethnicity people living in China (Jingpo), India (Singpho) and Myanmar (Kachin) should increase their people to people cultural ties like cross country marriages, festivals, cultural exchange.

It's singpo
Singpho/jingpho later known as kachin by the britishers are the immediate cousins to northern nagas(Tang-Shang nagas).
They share culture, traditions, linguistic similarities and oral history. Although most jingphos have become influenced majorly by tai-shans after migrating plainwards.
Even many tangshang have been influenced by tai-shans.
We call tai-shans as "sam-wa" "sham".
Northern naga headgear and many things are similar to jingpho. They used to wear loincloth too in the past and elephant and wild boar tusk just like us.
But those in kachin became more tai-shan and Burmese influenced wearing lungi and tai shan clothes.
Those in Yunnan China became more han Chinese influence which can be seen in the video.
jinghpo are not influnced by tai shan, we live by. you could see chinese history also.

Chinese is actually a culture and a country instead of ethnic. What you meant by Chinese actually is call as Han in China. Most of the minorities in China see themselves as Chinese actually, including the jingo.

You can find them in 3 countries- India, China and Myanmar..

Most of tibeto-Burman speaking tribes in Northern Myanmar /northeast india/southwestern china/tibet are the ancient "rong"or" xirong"documented in Chinese history.
And the south east Asians are "man" or "nan man" who spoke austro asiatic languages.
So they are never southeast Asian people.
Also, many of the tribes of tibeto-Burman groups mention their migratory origin from western or South western China above the tibetan plateau.
