Thanks you. Very comprehensive explanation. I have been working on OT for more than 10 years and never realised that it is commonly goes by this term. I knew it more as Industrial Automation. But now I have more knowledge. Thanks again 🙂👍
I have worked in both IT and OT networking for 38 years. IT folks who step into the OT world are typically pretty much stunned by the differences and needs of OT.
No homogeneous network?!! Proprietary, backward comparability to “antiquated” HW/SW and you wanna drive on the autobahn!!?? Jeepers/Creepers. What did I sign up?? I’m subscribed and invested with this new journey 🧘🏾♀️🧘🏾♀️🔥🔥. Thank you for your continuation with sharing your knowledge. I’m listening ☺️💫 🍿
Not as such. OT is different from IoT - Operational Technology, OT, is for manufacturing environments and things like that. They can be very sensitive and often use proprietary protocols. Most have to be kept separate from the regular IT environment. CCTV are Internet of Things or IoT devices that sit side by side with regular IT devices, like laptops and printers.
@@mohamedhaneef6379 Hello Mohamed, CCTV, can enter the OT space There is mission critical CCTV systems that are critical to operations, these come under OT This may be a conveyor camera, storage silo camera, This differenciates it's self from static cameras for surveillance and security
Stuxnet. That was a malware that infected an air-gapped OT network. When that happened, we all learned that air-gapped means a very high latency internet connection.

Sure thing, and I'm about to get started up again with content for the channel again, so if you have any requests or questions, let me know!
Really liked it, brilliant 👍. I would like to know more about it especially for the IIoT perspective...... How do I connect with you ?
Is CCTV an OT service?

@@An_Economist_Plays Many thanks
Here because of the pipeline hack
Yeah that was a big hit... and not much of a surprise, sadly.
