I learned manual fully from a racing sim setup and Gran Turismo 7. I rarely ever stall my real manual car, even from the beginning. No misshifts either, since I made sure I got the muscle memory of going through the gears in game.
I never thought about that, it's actually very helpful for the learning process that the car will move without hitting the gas I think that really helps a new stick shifter on how to slowly let off the clutch while hitting the gas You did great.
