You missed the most important lyrics.... "Only after the last tree's cut, and the last river poisoned.... only after the last fish is caught will you find that money cannot be eaten."
You do realize that lamb of god is quoting an indigenous American (Cree) proverb there? It's great to appreciate the significance of what it's saying, just know the source.
@@vaevobis3589 Saying "know the source" is random. How is someone supposed to GUESS that they need to look into a specific lyric deeper for every single song they listen to?
Wrath, in my opinion, is one of the benchmark metal albums. It’s up there with Master of Puppets, Black Sabbath, Vulgar Display of Power, etc. Game changing.
I wonder how much of our preference for certain albums is to down to nostalgia. I got into LoG in 2006, first songs I heard of theirs were from Sacrament and Ashes of the Wake. I got everything going back to their Burn the Priest album but for me, As the Palaces Burn - Sacrament was peak LoG. Saw them live on the Sacrament Tour in 2007, Defenders of the Faith II (co-headlining with Dimmu Borgir) in 2009, and Wrath Tour in 2010. I remember feeling underwhelmed by Wrath when it came out. It didn't (and still doesn't) live up to the bar set by the previous 3 albums, but returning to it now after all these years I have to admit it's still a solid release in its own right. On a tangential note now that I'm nostalgia tripping, I haven't been to see LoG since the Wrath Tour. I haven't been to a metal gig since 2013. I miss it. I first saw LoG when I was 14 and a half, soon after my half-sister was born. Some time in the next couple months she'll be the same age I was when she was born, and not long after that, the same age I was when I went to my first gig. So I couldn't pass up on the opportunity to grab tickets to see LoG playing in Glasgow in December. Really hoping COVID doesn't screw it up. Also really hoping my Sacrament tour tee still fits.
Wrath, though?😂 Idk anyone who was listening to them before Wrath was even a thing that thinks this album is better than Ashes or Palaces - or even Sacrament for that matter. Throw Resolution in there too as that's also a really good album, possibly even better than Sacrament.
Nah, people had already done this kinda stuff by this point in time. Groove metal had already been a thing for years, Machine head was basically just a 90’s version of this. Not to take away from them or anything, they are great band but they aren’t really a benchmark band although I do think ashes of the wake and hourglass are some of the best groove metal songs ever. Edit: And the fact that wrath wasn’t even that popular, ashes of the wake was much more popular and much more influential
Shit goes hard AF. I've had that quote as my Instagram bio for like a decade now and didn't even know it was Native American until today. That's what led me back here to re listen to this song because it slaps.
Fun fact for anyone that doesn't know, Randy ran around the block of the recording studio to get a real take of audio with him completely out of breath for the end
Oh shit I feel old... this whole album is brand new in my eyes, as far as my first, & lamb of Gods music overall! I mean that as a compliment... just saying I'm GETTING OLD... UGHHHH 😢
Mr Campbell's bass kicks ass so much, here. This bassline is the spine and the main groove of the song. I just can't stop listening to it. (Browse them internets to find the version with "isolated" bass track. It's just magnificent)
I have been a metalhead for 18 years. Then maybe short to some that may be long. Regardless, I believe this is truly one of the greatest, if not the greatest metal songs ever. The messages superb. The writing is superb. Listen up this song will make you happy in many different ways.
This... this one will always hit a specific cord with me. From beginning to end, especially the sounds of crashing waves as the music fades... reminds me of simpler times. Better times...
You do hear a guy that's saying come on come on right before the song starts right ? That's me . I'll throw metal at you bring it lamb of god . Metalhead forever .
3:30 and onwards is just... absolute fucking incredible, with 4:23 hitting into masterpiece of notes and drum kicks. Impossible not to keep replaying that entire final section
Is it just me or does the intro part with the acoustic guitar kinda sound like a minor key version of a part of lateralus by tool? Obviously not saying one of them copied the other but it's a neat coincidence.
The opening riff of Lateralus? I can kinda hear it, but it's a little too off. Not like the opening notes of Adam's Song by Blink-182 and Suburban War by Arcade Fire, that shit is uncanny.
The elements will reclaim what was taken I want to say all too late for the human species However it's just a dream that the earth will reclaim itself from man and mans creations And wills
2025 off to a great start in California
Perfect song for what is happening in LA
You missed the most important lyrics....
"Only after the last tree's cut, and the last river poisoned.... only after the last fish is caught will you find that money cannot be eaten."
My favourite lyric
That just hit home so hard 🤘
Actually, my favorite part.

Wrath, in my opinion, is one of the benchmark metal albums. It’s up there with Master of Puppets, Black Sabbath, Vulgar Display of Power, etc. Game changing.
Let me add to this fine list:.. Powerslave, The Way of All Flesh, Reign in Blood, Blackwater Park, Iowa \m/
Absolutely the best album from Lamb of God and most underrated

This is the soundtrack to the book of revelation, in my opinion. Like, God is gonna pour out his cup of wrath and the world will burn.
The breakdown with the Native American quote has me literally crying every time
Same
Cree proverb and im cree shit made me feel good
Shit goes hard AF. I've had that quote as my Instagram bio for like a decade now and didn't even know it was Native American until today. That's what led me back here to re listen to this song because it slaps.
Goosebumps.
Everytime I see a news clip of a shoreline blown out from a big storm. This song plays in my head. Like yup. Mother nature wins 100% of the time
PUSH THE BUTTON LIGHT THE MATCH! FEEL THE FAULT LINE DETACH!
A war starts and nobody sees it...
Fun fact for anyone that doesn't know, Randy ran around the block of the recording studio to get a real take of audio with him completely out of breath for the end
this is actually my favorite lamb of god song.
Ill allow it
Snap 🤘
\m/
I love that intro..makes you think this is going to be a peaceful country music until Randy's brutal screams kicks in..
It's always crazy to me how they don't play their best song live all the time.
There's something about that lone bass kick at 0:39 that just pumps me up, knowing what's ahead! The calm before the storm, if you will 🤘
Rest in piece earphones
Out of all the songs they've ever released till this day, this one is definitely my favorite ♥
100% agreed.
Same
Must turn up the volume while listening to this song
why dont my headphones go to 11
@@ReLapse85 You gotta press the volume button hard to get the loud stuff : )
A Masteriece by Lamb of God. Love from Bangladesh.❤❤❤
Actually this is my fav song of theirs
This was one of the tracks that introduced me to metal as a youngin
Yeah? Me too?
Great track to get introduced to metal by
@SM G um okay. It’s just my opinion as is yours
Quite the introduction! This album came out when I was 17 and I've been hooked ever since
Oh shit I feel old... this whole album is brand new in my eyes, as far as my first, & lamb of Gods music overall! I mean that as a compliment... just saying I'm GETTING OLD... UGHHHH 😢
This album helped me through some tough times...
Me too, your not alone👍🏻
This band saved my life. Tattooed this logo on my leg.
That breakdown. So simple yet so fucking heavy!
My favorite lamb of god song
John Campbell’s bass on this song is so underrated! That’s why I love listening to it in my truck while driving, feeling that bass!
This is still their best song imo.

The greatest message a song could be
Learning to play the guitar solo at the intro on piano. Try it! It slaps.
