This is why I love AEW. Every city and every match is different. Some cities want to cheer the heels and boo the faces, some it’s opposite. Letting their characters take advantage of their “home fields” so to speak (their home cities) is just smart. Take this segment for example, Britt comes off as an absolutely massive star, as she should!
I was in the crowd for this. When Britt showed up the roof absolutely came off the place. The kind of ovation we used to hear when the glass would shatter on the other channel. It was absolutely electric!
As much as I would like to disagree with you, I can't. I have rarely seen such a pop for such an extended amount of time and the Pyro and the spectacle created by the towel swinging, electric. Britt Baker is a star!!
No pop can touch Austin's when he did the run in to help Mick Foley win the WWF Championship from The Rock. No other wrestler has been as over as Austin was.
Totally! Ricky Starks got SO MANY cheers in Austin and won the belt there! Granted he's not born/from there, but he does live there so the crowd was totally rooting for him like a native!

Im happy AEW doesnt do full faces or heels for everyone. I much prefer her as who she is now vs a normal baby face. The only time bookers should be concerned is if a baby face is getting booed.

In a backwards way, that leg injury last year and covid have been the best thing thay happened to her career. It gave her over a year to build up her character without the pressures of live crowds.

And people have occasionally taken a liking to heel characters when they're done well as seen with guys like Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, The Rock, Stone Cold, etc where you don't care if you're supposed to boo them because they're just too likable.
She’s probably the most charismatic women’s wrestler I’ve gotten to watch in my life. DMD, and AEW as a whole pulled me back into wrestling again and I’m happy for it. Thanks for making wrestling fun again.
AEW heels are so good you can't help but smile and cheer at times. Like, that entrance was hella lit, even if it was a homecoming. Doesn't change the fact that us as fans felt her energy. Respect 💯

Yes she does have the music and the face paint and the great Wrestling ability but I haven't seen that oomph with context yet if you get me. That is a textbook home heel promo. Just the right amount of everything in the recipe...charismatically cocky, puts over her opponent a little bit, gives props to her hometown and the crowd going nuts for her, it's just great.
