Wonderful, and the banjo playing was an extra treat! Looks like he was playing a 4-string tenor banjo which is more common for trad music. The tuning is usually GDAE. So it’s much easier to play the main riff on the 3rd string tuned to A (I just tried it 😄)
lol this is great. I bought a CD years and years ago that was some dance mix CD and this song was on there. Had never heard of the Grid before and thought no one else had either. 🤣🤣
Thanks! It's actually just a non-thing I threw together as a bed for the voice-over! Levee, a pitched-down version of the Swamp Thing banjo, and the intro synth bleeps from Tainted Love...!
😁 Hearing... I've played guitar for many (many!) years so was able to find my way around the banjo once I picked a tuning. I had a look online afterwards and there seem to be a few opinions on how to play it, but I'm happy with where this one is - kind of in keeping with the sampling approach that they'd have had back then!
Haven't thought about this track in years, possibly decades, but as soon as I read the title, it played in my head
👍 It's one of those tracks that you'd never immediately leap to putting on a playlist, but somehow everyone's heard it... !

😁🪕 I did wonder about how he'd tuned the tenor.. perhaps he did play it in A at 135bpm, that's really, really going some!!!
How you play it bud 😎 ?
crucial. thank you
Thanks!

😂😂 I thought it was a lot bigger than it was, but apparently not!
Love the narration
😁 Thanks!
that guitar sound was definitely one of the soundtracker mainstays
Wonder if it's still part of the new tracker hardware factory libraries - be cool if so!
Love Swamp Thing! Interesting collab with Robert Fripp on a newish album.
I need to check it out - love a bit of Fripp!
That interesting, banjo rolls are difficult, congratulations for even attempting that.
Also where did you get the sample CD? It’s hen’s teeth trying to find them these days. Been looking for some of the old Time&Space releases
There are/were that had been preserved on archive.org - think they've been mirrored elsewhere too
The guitar stab is from the Yes song Owner of a lonely heart
Could be! A lot of tracks sampled that guitar stab from Yes so it's really possible that The Grid took it from there
is it fuck
Top quality once again 💥✊
😁 Thanks!
Your transition music, with the Levee loop, is really fun. What is it, and is it available somewhere?

It's great, I'd happily pay a buck or two for it on bandcamp.
One day I'll get round to putting it all on there!!!
Dang did you just pull the banjo notes by hearing it or did you find tabs or sheet music?

Well, I’ll comment. Because I like what you are doing. But my reasons are my own.
OK. Cryptic 😂
😁 Thank you!
Wow, is this the first time we've seen your...yellow shirt?
😎
hmmmm
🙏🙏
It's not really right, but whatever.... must try harder
Will do - Any pointers? Thanks so much for stopping by! 😎🤟
