I've seen food pantries and how they are operated and believe me it's hard work because people don't see how the food that's donated gets set up. Appreciate these hard working people and the abuse they often receive from disgruntled people.

I got to know the volunteers that worked there and I asked one of them how he liked his job. With the exception of being cussed at by some people he really enjoyed it. His ways and genuine concern impressed me. This is why when it comes to who you can or shouldn't give to it's a choice that tests you.

The food bank is a very large dissibution center. Corporations will donate to the banks by products, meats, and misc items. Our pantry is run by a resale shop, and money goes to purchase items for the pantry. The pantry's administrator is a paid position because it demands a lot of time, and all others are volunteers. The pantry is a very important part of our community.
This is why I give to my local domestic violence shelter and group homes. I wish I would give to people from a country that would not do the same for us. Imagine if Black people came to their country for help. Oooops it’s already happening in Haiti.
