I was recommended to give these dudes a listen. Straight from the off-set I was engrossed by the skilful arrangement here. Also, the fact that the mics (seem) totally live, start to finish - no messing with pitch!?! Great vocal control from all 4 members!
I didn’t think it was possible to enhance this arrangement, but they have arguably done it here with the extended chords and additional ornamentation - What do you think? Is that blasphemy lol?

Forestella's a Korean Vocal Group and their genre is CROSSOVER. They definitely belong to the best that the music industry currently has to offer. They mix mainly rock/pop with classic vocals and very sophisticated classically techniques. They are 2 masters of vocal music, 1 musical actor, 1 rock vocalist with angelic soprano voice (and self-taught until the group was founded). Forestella is very versatile, creative, ambitious and not necessarily always mainstream. They just do their thing and always with a TOP result. You shouldn't keep missing these guys.

Forestella is a crossover group formed in 2017 through Korean singing competition "Phantom Singer 2". The show was intended to form a crossover vocal quartet. They didn't know each other before entering the competition, then they are grouped in the final and became the winner. They consists of 2 opera trained singer, 1 musical actor & 1 self taught rocker (before joining Forestella). They can sing opera, ballad, pop, rock & often called as the Kings of Harmonies.
FORESTELLA'S Version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" is on the one hand a homage to this iconic song, on the other hand they have made it completely their own and it is on a par with the original. As with every song they reinterpret. I definitely recommend their OWN MASTERPIECES “Save our Lives” and “Utopia” (parts I and II of a trilogy) and “White Night” (simply magical). This also applies to the fascinating “snow globe” that has just been created. Also their versions of "Lazenka Save Us" (EPIC! Rock/Metal) or "Inner Universe" (from Gost of the Shell) and "LEGENDS NEVER DIE" (from League of Legends). EACH of these performances will literally blow your mind.

This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; an audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However, as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world!
Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Hijo de la Luna, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed.
You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! If you are a LOL fan, check their Warriors and Legends Never Die!
And they broke the record of their own with EXO's MAMA winning 6 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs. Check their magnificent performances of Bad Romance and Lazenca Save us, Unwritten Legend and Despacito too.
Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (a classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (an ex-research chemist, rock vocalist with soprano head voice falsetto), Cho MinGyu (a classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (a musical actor, 159th King of the Masked Singers, emotion convincer good at R&B, Pop). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. They meet almost everyday to practice together. In a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in the year. Bae DooHoon also said they don't meet 1~2 days in a month. I think this explains how their perfection can be possible.
Don't miss their m/v for Save our lives! It's full of wonders. Each of them is representing an element in the m/v. They sang Fake Love of BTS and their song Save our lives at MAMA. Their majestic original song Utopia is a must check.
Now I see they are creating a genre called Forestella. They showed "What crossover is" with Save our lives and showing "What Forestella does" with Utopia! Enjoy their diversity with their original song White Night too.
Forestella released their single KOOL in Kpop style to fulfill their promise of Kpop cover dance for exceeding 990K views of Save our lives m/v. They struggled to choose a Kpop to dance, became to think making their own Kpop song with dance! As crossover works for all genres, Forestella did a great job for their fans.

Forestella released fantastic original Snow Globe m/v! Kang HyungHo composed it, and all the Forestella members contributed in arranging it.
Another original Chagall's Dream brings back the moment of Forestella Festival in my heart, I feel like in my lucid dream seeing Forestella altogether in the future in advance.
Forestella first sang their version of Bohemian Rhapsody in the KBS Immortal Songs which is a kind of remake competition music entertainment show. It made them known to the world, and later they put it in their 2nd album titled Mystique. They had concert tour under the title Mystique. This video was filmed at the Mystique encore concert, the last of the tour.
I prefer their Immortal Songs video because we can see their acting in the performance there. Here it's too dark to see it well.. I recommend Forestella Queen's best songs compilation video on KBS Jeonju channel. There are 2 more Queen renditions in addition to the very first performed Bohemian Rhapsody by Forestella.

fyi, a lot of the cover performances are on a korean musical variety show called immortal songs. the premise of the show is a weekly competition where famous artists cover past "immortal songs" either by a specific artist or centered on a specific theme. it's these covers that have gone viral and gained forestella an audience outside of korea. the very first cover to go viral was bohemian rhapsody in may 2019. this one you just watched was from their second concert tour in korea in 2020.

I agree completely with you on proper emotion to the lyrics, the lyrics are quite sad, but the original is more of a headbanger, so the emotion of the beginning lyrics, in my opinion, is lacking to a large extent. Another difference is Forestella takes their time telling the story, so important and absent from traditional pop/rock radio play songs. It's a progressive song composed for Forestella by Valensia Clarkson, who is heavily influenced by Queen. It's the 2nd part of a triology. (Part I being “Save our lives”, and part III “White Nights.”) All very uplifting and deep meaning songs.

Si hay Forestella, hay me gusta, comentario y suscripción. Excelente reacción. Para recomendar más de ellos hay una lista interminable. Tal vez puedes seguir con clásicos como: Sound of the silence, sweet dreams, scarabough faire, time in a bottle. Hay más de Queen, alguno de Michel Jackson. Canciones en español, francés, italiano, coreano obviamente (Son de Corea del sur) etc... géneros musicales hay varios también. Los chicos son excelentes. En mi opinión nada les queda grande. Y por supuesto también tienen sus canciones originales que son magníficas, igual que ellos.
