Thank you for this great video and all others related to this product. Question: How would I make a M1 mac computer running Logic Pro X to see two of these (16 channels) for recording drums? The mac has thunderbolt connectors only and there are a total of 16 microphones (condensers and dynamic). Is it possible to have a 'direct' connection between both RMP-D8 (master + slave) and the Mac? I'm trying to understand the wiring between the 3.
top!
are the pres in rmp-d8 different design from portico and shelford?
Are these the same converters used in the new Master Bus Converter? Thanks
The transformer path is very similar and sonically there were mastering engineers using the RMP regularly for just conversion before the MBC came out. The MBC is distinct because it has separate transformer and transformerless paths as well as control over the transformer with silk / texture... RMP basically has a medium amount of silk on all the time, geared to have a similar level / quality of harmonic distortion as a vintage Neve preamp
@@RupertNeveDesigns This unit sounds fantastic. I would love to see a two or four channel version for the home studio with the exact same sound and components.
@@theblowupdollsmusic yea i prefer them over shelford. Would be nice to have 2-4 channels
