I am always happy to see Elves represented as something besides arrogant and narcissistic.
Elves can be anything:
arrogant/narcissistic
compassionate/environmental
virtuous/godlike
hedonistic/selfish
If you only ever see one type of elves try branching out in your fiction choices a little more.

I remember this one time in a D&D campaign I played as a chaotic lawful elf paladin named Arlo. His backstory was he for into a drinking contest which later turned into a bar fight with Marrow God of honer and good luck where he made a wager.
Arlo: I'll make you a bet!
Marrow: I'm listening...
Arlo: Let's me and you have a little turtle outside and if I win you will grant me your luck! *Hiccups*
Marrow: Seems fair. *Chugs Ail* But if I win you must become my paladin and spread my name in good faith till your last day. *Grins*
Arlo: Then it's set... *Stands up* I'll meet you outside... Oh almost forgot! *Removes all weapons and armor* No weapons, no magic, only fist!
Marrow: Wouldn't have it another way.
*One Ass-Kicking later*
Arlo: So why am I meeting them here again?
Marrow: They needed help so you will aid them, my humble paladin.
Arlo: Please don't rub it in...
Marrow: Come on just give them a chance you could all end up great friends. *Grins*
Arlo: Alright, Alright... *Sighs* I'll see you again in two years...
Marrow: Arlo! *Throws clover pendant* make sure that gets back to me. Now don't go getting yourself killed... *Begins to walk away*
Arlo: No promises...
*1 Year and 10 Months later*
Arlo: Take everyone and get out of here!
Tolra: But Arlo you'll die if we leave you!
Sam: *Knocks out Tolra*
Trip: You sure you know what im doing kid?...
Arlo: Yeah... It's for the sake of the party after all...
Trip: *Begins to tear up* I'll be seeing you... Arlo...
Arlo: Hey Zora! *Throws pendant* Makes sure that gets back to my God you filthy heathen...
Zora: I... I promise... *Moves tail across chest* Cross my heart and hope to die...
Arlo: There almost threw the door now... Chances to survive?... Less than none... Well, I guess you could say... It was lady luck that guided me here today...
*At Arlos Funeral*
Marrow: *Kneels at the cassette* You pour sweet soul... Always keeping to your rules... Till there very end...
Sam: Rule number 38 always stay in pairs...
Tolra: Rules number 57 always be aware...
Trip: Rule number 96 it's okay to cry...
Zora: Rue number 112 always light the way...
Trip: Rule number 49 never leave your friends behind...
Marrow: If only if he considered himself a friend... *Starts to tear up*

What if some one were to start doing pushups in the baths to strengthen their body to make up for their weak mind? Asking for a friend
Those are special elven baths and what will happen is that one would become incredibly muscular, and some of those muscles will migrate into the mind, and the person would end up with a muscular body and a muscular mind (*´︶`*)

Imagine being a scholar exploring the normal world and discovering magical wonderful things... But now the catch is if you ever tell anyone you will be blinded from magic and never be able to lay your eyes on it again... Would you do it? I would honestly. The only problem is if I ever have children I would never be able to tell them about my amazing discoveries...
