My lynx point is the smartest cat I've ever owned, she's also the weirdest. She obviously has fairly poor eyesight and also has awful balance which makes her pretty fun to watch bc she's always falling off of the windowsill lol. The energy level is so high, I love it! It's always play time. But the funny thing is that she has never ever tried to hurt me, she's very intentionally gentle. My other cat plays so rough I get scratched constantly but my lynx point NEVER bites and if she plays with us she always keeps her claws in. Even if I try to get her to attack my hand she will hunt it from a distance and then run and pounce, then back away. She won't even hit you. It's very bizarre bc I have never had a cat that was so gentle and self aware of it's claws. She's pretty timid and only likes to be held on her terms but she is just the sweetest cat I've ever owned and I don't think I'll go without a lynx point for the rest of my life.
Mico is definitely very smart. He’s so clever at jumping into the cat carrier and also at playing fetch. Added to his smartness, he’s also very beautiful and a wonderful companion. 😺💝👍🏽
It is a fact that Siamese cats are one of the smartest domestic cat breeds. Fetching is a Siamese trait, although I have had several different cats who have enjoyed fetching! Siamese cats are also one of the most vocal, but in all my years of having kitties, I have found that the more you communicate with them, the more they communicate in return >>> same with attentiveness -- the more you interact with them, the more they interact with you!! It's just like bringing up a toddler. The only difference is these 'furry' toddlers never grow up!! LOL!! It is a most enjoyable life!! @@MicoKitty First get him used to harness. Just put it on and let him run around house. Then put on a leash and go out around house then once he gets comfortable with everything start taking walks
I rescued my lynx point gatita off a dangerous street in México when she was about a month and a half, and she’s already pretty much doing everything you described - especially the fetching and trying to get into everything. Then again... so did my Bengals (half brothers with the same father) I adopted as kitten and took care of until they both got old and died in my arms. Cats are just clever, naughty and lovely all the same! 🤔🤗😍
I adopted a Lynx point kitten from the Humane Society a few years ago. He was not socialized at all towards people and he turned out to be the worst cat we ever had. Unfortunately, we had to bring him back to the Humane Society to have him rehomed.
Mico is smart but I'm dumb and whenever we hang out at the Salmon sockhop bar, he never makes me feel bad about my dumbness. He is the most ameowzing sockhop partner, too!!
I have a petite Lynx Point named Aurora and a large Orange Tabby named Eddie. Both are sweet and lovely cats, but there is no doubt that Aurora is the brains of the outfit. The intelligence disparity between these two cats is shocking.
I work 8:30 to 5:30 every week day. I really want one of these guy, but I am afraid my time away will harm the cat. Is this an actually issue or is my anxiety getting in the way of this?
I responded on your other comment. I don't think you would be the only one having a kitty and working. Kitty would probably spend that time napping and would be a bit lonely or naughty. But sure would help if you were to get a fur friend for your kitty. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My Daughter rescued a little kitten Lynx Siamese and he was very skinny with a huge bot maggot in his cheek. He's great now and 1yr old and beautiful. We have so much fun with him 💕 and love him so very much ❤ 💕 💖
Mićo is an intelligent cat. My Siamese used to love to play fetch as well. In fact, if you weren’t paying enough attention or they wanted to play, they bring one of their toys to you as if to say, “will you play with me?” Perhaps you’ve had Mićo do the same.
I have a Blue Lynx Point named Roxy( we didn't get to name her and I didn't want to confuse her by changing her name, but I would've named her Opal or Hazel ) we rescued at 7 years old because her owner passed and his wife gave up both his cat and hers as she was too elderly to take care of them anymore. We could only adopt 1 and Roxy literally saw me, stood up and perked up like she was waiting for us and new us the whole time. She was meant to be ours. She's so smart! She can definitely communicate her wants and needs vocally and physically. She's one of the best cats I've ever had, excellent temperament with my boys, she is so patient and she grooms each of us and rubs up on us, makes biscuits and also likes to tap my face to wake me up in the morning. I LOVE this freaking cat. My husband and I will probably own Lynx Points for the rest of our lives now. She's our first but not our last that's for sure. I'm happy they live to 15-20 years if taken care, of which our baby girl is. Their stunning beauty is just the icing on the cake her personality is just so precious and funny. These cats are definitely intelligent and unique.

I do doordash for money and every time I come home (which can vary give a take an hour) Dusty is still there waiting for me. He also knows his name and his favorite treat 'bacon' he also does the flop and roll like mico does.

Mico is soooo clever! My little girl Angel is a lynx point Siamese, and although she's certainly smart and beautiful and I love her to bits, I have to admit she couldn't do many of these things! Haha to be honest I don't know! He probably picked up on our laughs and praises. But since he went to frequent vet visits, he doesn't like it anymore. But probably if the carrier is always out and comfy and if it smells like the cat or catnip, they would probably get in on their own.

I try to distract him w/play but as soon as it’s over he’s back in the kitchen really complaining quite loudly! Any ideas?
I have the same problem! My cat Mićo is also slightly overweight and always hungry! I tried giving him less food gradually. And I give him less food more frequently. For him, it's better to give him five smaller portions than three bigger ones. But I would strongly advise you to ask your vet who can give you the best advice on how much food your precious cat needs and how many portions. Hope that helps!
