It's the debut of Joe Flacco, and the start of a near-Super Bowl season for Baltimore, as they face Carson Palmer and Cincinnati in the 2008 season opener.
Was at this game 10 years back and at 1:49:00 the announcer talks about how the crowd was falling in love with Joe Flacco. He was right, we finally had our quarterback to lead us to the championship, and low and behold he did. He may be a shell of his former self, but I’ll never forget some of the great moments he brought to the Ravens. GO RAVENS
josh36046- Nice story. It was enough to get a thumbs up from me. I remember watching this game on TV as if were literally yesterday. However, I disagree with you on something that you said near the end of your statement when you said "Joe Flacco may be a shell of his former self...", or, something like that.; I wouldn't go so far as to say that about Joe Flacco, personally.
@@tthomaselli2 he isn’t as good now as he was 4-5 years ago... that became pretty obvious in 2016-17. He just got older and injured... happens pretty often.
@@josh36047- I didn't notice any signs of decline/etc. in Joe Flacco around the 2016-2017 NFL season. Also, I still wouldn't go so far as to play the "Joe Flacco's not the same guy he once was about 4-5 seasons ago." card because at least he can still go, though. That's always a god thing to have on your roster, though... Right?... Also, I was hoping that Joe Flacco would've returned to the Baltimore Ravens in the spring of 2020 rather than signing with the New York Jets & being relegated to 2nd string/"back-up" status, personally.
@@madzee673- Yes, I did... I'm disappointed by that news, personally. I was hoping he would've gone back to the Baltimore Ravens, personally.; It would've been nice to've seen Joe Flacco make his return to Baltimore & suit up for the Baltimore Ravens, again.
Nice run by Joe Flacco at 1:47:26-1:47:41!... I remember watching this game on TV as if it were literally yesterday & I remember saying to myself "WOW!..." after he got into the end-zone & saying "Run, Joe, run!..." as he was trying to go into the end-zone. At the same time, I also think the crowd's reaction from 1:47:40-1:48:19 & the look on Joe Flacco's face at 1:47:42, respectively told the entire story...
Joe Flacco's first two passes of his career are a 12 yard pass that is fumbled, and then a 9 yard pass that is dropped. This is a perfect representation of the fest of Flacco's Raven career. He was constantly let down by his receivers, from start to finish. Flacco wins at least 3 superbowls from 2008-2014 if he's not constantly and viciously let down by his surrounding cast.
I didn't think I would ever see a former Pittsburgh Steelers coach in Bill Cowher & a former Baltimore Ravens player in Shannon Sharpe, for example be on the same page about a division rival in the AFC North like we did around 2:19:03-2:19:23. On the other hand, seeing 2 people from a respective divisional rivalry of their own finding themselves in agreement on something about another division rival is a rarity, as well...
I remember watching this game & laughing at what Kevin Harlan said at 10:21-10:27 about Ray Lewis because he was off by one season. The 2008-2009 NFL season was Ray Lewis' 12th season in the NFL. The 2009-2010 NFL season would be his 13th season.
Look at how young Joe Flacco is at 13:06 & 1:08, for example... Is it just me, or, does he literally look like he hasn't aged, at all since he made his debut in the 2008-2009 NFL season?...
What did Kevin Harlan say, again about the Cincinnati Bengals' offense in terms of their starting field position at 37:01-37:06?... "The Cincinnati Bengals have--" what?...
I miss this era of football ...
K O R i G A N- So do I.
The start of the Joe Flacco era.
Bryson Hall- Agreed...
I couldn't have said it, better.
What a great time this was, indeed--in my opinion, at least.

Lee Evans drop, TJ whosurmama drop, even Q dropped a touchdown in that game as well. Defense let him down in 14

Nice play by the Baltimore Ravens at 27:36-28:00!...
I just realized something:
The Baltimore Ravens are the home team & they're wearing their road uniforms & vice-versa for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Typical in September because those games are hot and the home teams wear white because it attracts less sunlight
@@flockshock- Really?...
I never would've guessed that.
Thank you.
Who's that wearing the #7 in the background at 2:18:47?...
I can't tell.
28:04, 1:47:46 And I also never knew how the Baltimore Ravens played "Song 2" by "Blur" as a former touchdown song as well too.

To this day, the part from 29:16-29:20 still makes me laugh...
