Thanks you for the shout out and I see a lot of mine and dravens setup on ur system. Nice. Glad to see you have the tbone bumper in the rear. Protect that motor! You will be above 110mph sooner than you think.
Thanks so much. After watching these videos from you and other people on here were burining up esc I don't want to burn down mine lol I think the gyro makes the esc hot because its using constant power all the time for the servo to make the car go strait . Stay tuned for a couple speed runs when I get my bec hooked up. I did a couple passes without my gyro and hit 87 and ran out of road lol rite on thanks for the info bro
I'm using the stock slipper clutch, but I am using the pads from the Revo slipper clutch set up. The slipper clutch pads from the Revo are solid metal and do not wear or break like the stock ones that you get with the Rustler. You cannot buy just the metal pads separately, so you have to buy the Revo slipper clutch in its entirety. The traxxas part number for that is 5352R, and it's about ten bucks. If you burn through slipper pads, then that's the solution.
I use a Garmin GPS like the one you would use for navigation in a car, and the straps are something you can find at most hobby stores, both work great!
I did lower it, but it also handled just fine with stock shock heigth. I lowered it hoping it would keep it from flipping at high speeds, but it still flips anyways. The key to keeping it from flipping I believe is throttle control.
Really nice of you to share the set up of your car. Can you tell me how many of the spacers you used for lowering the car? Did you also use the tall one?
I have the 100 mile an hour 4x4 slash! I had really bad luck with the jaco foam tires. I went with the steel belted tires it made all the difference in the world at high speed
I agree that rubber tires will work better on most 100mph applications, especially4wd. I actually have a new 100mph RC I'm working on which is 4wd and I fully intend on using rubber GRP tires. But for my Rustler, for some reason, works better with foam tires. Probably because the Rustler is only rear wheel drive, and wobbles at high speeds with rubber tires. Also, did you get your Slash to 100mph!?
You have to drill out more space on the motor mount/gear box so that your motor can slide back further, giving you the extra room you'll need to fit the larger mod 1 gears.
I'm not sure. I guess whatever a Rustler weighs plus the pound and a half of lead weight I use in the front end to keep it down at high speeds. Your guess is as good as mine.
i did use the tall ones on the front or rear, I can't remember. I also don't remember how many spacers I used, but I do remember that I tried many combos of spacers until I found the right height. Also, I used a different amount of spacers for the front than I did the rear, because the heights will be different if you use the same amount for both front and rear. Hope this helps.
I try to watch my throttle control trying not to punch it too hard because of the extreme power I'm pushing. I haven't had any problems yet, but I did twist my rear axles once doin stand still burnouts against my foot, but that's it. I'm going to put an XL2 Castle ESC on my R/C so I can run an 8cell setup and go 130mph, then we'll see how the diff holds up then!
I'm using the stock one that came with my Rustler when it was still a brushed system. I feel that if I upgraded to an expensive servo then I wouldn't need the gyro that I currently use, but that's up to debate.
The Mamba Monster x esc and motor combo says the max motor temp is 212 deg F.I always here people saying max of 180 deg F. but the manual says 212 deg F.
Go to T-bone-racing and type Rustler in the search box on the page and scroll down. You can find the bumper/wheelie bar combo for like 25 bucks. Money well spent.
I know at one point I thought about doing the same thing but after talking with MRMRTMustang on the phone one day he said that when he did that he started blowing out diffs left and right so I never did it myself.
I need help understanding all this gearing and different batteries and motor combo. I have a 12tstock new rustler.3000mah batt. I wana make a dirt beast out of it. No road stuff. durable fron end. Need help understanding how suspension should bbe set up. Tires that eat earth and water skip.
Hey is hard to install that 10 amp bec cause I don't wanna burn out my esc I have a castle fan on it and soon as I get my gyro in the mail I want to install it.
After you hooked up the external 10 amp bec did your front steering work without Turing it on? Cause I just hooked mine up and when I plug the battery in my motor fan and steering works without turning the car on is it sapost to do that?
Where did you get the motor mount to fit the motor.I know the Rustler originally 1/8 scale wont fit it.I have a Bandit vxl and wan this motor but need a mount that would hold it.
not to be a disser but i dont think running a gyro & servo caused your esc to burn out . i think itz because you are running 6s that is what i think but i could be wrong please dont hate.. Take it Ez..
I am in process of ordering what I need to be part of the 100 mph team. I have couple questions The 2200kv castle motor. Will the new monster mamba 2 work. It says 1/8 and I have 1/10. The gyro you have what does it do for the car.
You do not, and I've heard SHOULD NOT change the voltage on your esc. My best advice is to definately put and external bec on your setup if your running extra electronics through your system. I had my local hobby shop solder mine onto my car for me because yes, it is not easy and a little complicated to install yourself if your not familiar with electrical shit like me. I killed THREE esc's when I started my Rustler- a whole summer of let downs. An external bec was the cure. Get one!
With the Jaco tires you will need the purple compound for the front and the pink compound for the rear. I also had wobbling at high speeds with rubber tires, and with the foam there was not that issue anymore. As for where you can get them, I would try to google it and see what your buying options are. As for aluminum parts, I would stick with plastic parts because they are cheaper to replace, also plastic parts have more give in a crash, where as aluminum will just break.
Thanks bro I appreciate it cuz the upgrades for aluminum is nut when it come to prices but I'm just go to rpm and order and extra set of everything so I won't to wait if I crash the only thing I've aluminum is the castor blocks but once again thanks bro
Aluminum add a lot of wait like A Arms and stuff so u should do just the small stuff and the parts the brake a lot aluminum, shock caps axle carriers camber links ect I repeat DO NOT put the front and rear bumber aluminum go RPM because when u crash it won't Obsorb the shock and stuff will bend
Mmm 2200kv is crap compared to x8st toro motors I know cos after watching a few vids like yours I went out and brought 1 sold it after 5 runs on 6s lipo (34p34s) gears, ran nearly twice as hot, toros got built in fan on end bell inside motor casing and I fitted heat sink and outter fan 104mph all day over a year old now xerun 150 amp sensored x8st comes in different kv ratings down to 1300 kv 33 max volt and $100 cheaper off ebay than castle esc and motor, ripoffs.
Thanks you for the shout out and I see a lot of mine and dravens setup on ur system.

Most helpful vid I've seen so far for my build thanks bro.... MEGATRON COMING SOON

Yeah, that's all good. Really glad to hear you put that on your car, nice work!
4 year old video , and over a year with no new uploads , but i liked the video so im gonna subscribe
6 years and here i am too lol
Nice setup!thanks for shout out!

Ok, thanx a lot. As soon as my aluminum caps arrive I will try it out

Right on brother. Good luck!
Nice bro I like your set up
Really nice of you to share the set up of your car. Can you tell me how many of the spacers you used for lowering the car? Did you also use the tall one?
Thanks. I tried that but it didn't completely stop the wobble. I am going to stick with the Jacos for now because they work awesome
LOL NATURAL AIR VENTS nice video bro
Cool vid man, good job on the 104!
Your welcome, anytime, and thanks!
Sweet build man, fast as f***
I have the 100 mile an hour 4x4 slash! I had really bad luck with the jaco foam tires. I went with the steel belted tires it made all the difference in the world at high speed

Hi Bro nice set up I got mmp sct 2400kv on 4s in my Rusty 25 34 mod1 getting 95mph will make speed run videos soon. Hello from down under Bro.
Gyro EK2-0704 is the model number. It's a discontinued item but you can still find one at Rc Toy House

Nice job man .I like sorry man I no post before. nice rustler

I was going to upgrade to the MIP drive shafts the next time I twist up my existing ones, as I hear that MIP drive shafts are the best. Thanks
No mip. They weigh to much and the pins snap. Go with 4x4 rpm driveshafts
hopefully ima be in the 100 club soon thanks for the vid!!
Nice Rc bro!! good video
I'm using the stock one that came with my Rustler when it was still a brushed system. I feel that if I upgraded to an expensive servo then I wouldn't need the gyro that I currently use, but that's up to debate.
nice setup bro.you got my sub
The Mamba Monster x esc and motor combo says the max motor temp is 212 deg F.I always here people saying max of 180 deg F. but the manual says 212 deg F.
yes that helped so thank u very much and i have subscribed
Nice work!!peace
hey how did you get your integy 34 tooth spur gear on your rustler because i cant get it on so thank u and loved the video.
Go to T-bone-racing and type Rustler in the search box on the page and scroll down. You can find the bumper/wheelie bar combo for like 25 bucks. Money well spent.
But my esc doesn't have castle link to set the voltage will it still be ok just to add the 10 amp bec? P.s great videos you rock!
nice setup
I drilled out more space on the gearbox/motor plate so the motor could slide farther back. Did that make sense?
try a little toe in on the rear tires,2 or 3 degrees should do it
Yo boss much respect...aye where did u get that rear bumper from
I know at one point I thought about doing the same thing but after talking with MRMRTMustang on the phone one day he said that when he did that he started blowing out diffs left and right so I never did it myself.
Cool thanks boss...
Rite on bro thanks for the info!
thanks and also how did you wire your e sky on too your car
Thanks bro
Why not use the Mip metal drive shaft for the slash I think they are x duty or w.e
Love it!!
Nice rustler
I need help understanding all this gearing and different batteries and motor combo. I have a 12tstock new rustler.3000mah batt. I wana make a dirt beast out of it. No road stuff. durable fron end. Need help understanding how suspension should bbe set up. Tires that eat earth and water skip.
Thanks for the shout out bro. I appreciate it. Sub'd
Hey is hard to install that 10 amp bec cause I don't wanna burn out my esc I have a castle fan on it and soon as I get my gyro in the mail I want to install it.
you should do a vid on them when you get them :) i never had a set but imagine they would be good.
oo.. And btw. Nice setup for sure.
Hey, what’s the name of that temp gauge. & would u know what other oil besides the original oil can be used for the shocks if there’s none. Thanks.
After you hooked up the external 10 amp bec did your front steering work without Turing it on? Cause I just hooked mine up and when I plug the battery in my motor fan and steering works without turning the car on is it sapost to do that?
what is the part name that shows the speed the Garmin what is it buddy to clock speed
Where did you get the motor mount to fit the motor.I know the Rustler originally 1/8 scale wont fit it.I have a Bandit vxl and wan this motor but need a mount that would hold it.
did u use 4 matching tires when u did ur run with the other tires or just on the rear?
thanks man
Your awesome
Hows it going, This vid is old but I wanted to ask you anyways. Can you tell me what the gyro does exactly. When would someone really need one? thanks
Is there a reason why no one uses rhe dx4c with gyro for speedruns??
What do u use for your speedometer and where did u get the battery strap
hay do you still run the rustler
What does that 10amp bec help out?because im running a 2200kv 20amp mamba xlx 8s system 36/34 gearing
Thanks! How fast have you gotten yours up to?
What is the hottest u will allow ur mamba motor to run.
how hard to wire up the gyro? extra items needed to connect to rec box?
not to be a disser but i dont think running a gyro & servo caused your esc to burn out . i think itz because you are running 6s that is what i think but i could be wrong please dont hate.. Take it Ez..
Dope
how can I make my integy gear box work with mod 1 gears?
Hey bro, what are you using for your steering servo?
How are u not blowing diffs?
tires and wheels?
Is this the cheapest 100 mph rustler?
Ive never blown out a diff in mine yet and I havent done anything special to it.
Where did you get those jaco tires
I am in process of ordering what I need to be part of the 100 mph team. I have couple questions
The 2200kv castle motor. Will the new monster mamba 2 work. It says 1/8 and I have 1/10.
The gyro you have what does it do for the car.
a bigger motor is better (if it fits in)
What do u use for drive shafts
where did you get the gyro

How much does ur car weigh?
I know this is 5 years too late but it wobbles cuz the tires aren’t balanced, if anyone is having those issues search “balancing tires with clay”
whatmotor plate do u havee??!?
Not to be weird but are u from Michigan u sound exactly like a sub teacher I have lol but nice car!
Bro what jacos are those and where can I find them I'm new to the game my shyt keeps wobbling at high speed and is it good to go all aluminum
With the Jaco tires you will need the purple compound for the front and the pink compound for the rear. any more names
The wobble is coming from the plastic camber bars in a the rear of the car get the metal ones and it shouldn't wobble.
Where are from I would like to race my rc car against yous
Mmm 2200kv is crap compared to x8st toro motors I know cos after watching a few vids like yours I went out and brought 1 sold it after 5 runs on 6s lipo (34p34s) gears, ran nearly twice as hot, toros got built in fan on end bell inside motor casing and I fitted heat sink and outter fan 104mph all day over a year old now xerun 150 amp sensored x8st comes in different kv ratings down to 1300 kv 33 max volt and $100 cheaper off ebay than castle esc and motor, ripoffs.
Can someone sell me a y connector
you need to balance your wheels to stop the wable
thats not a rustler, its a time machine
#2019
Castle internal BECs suck. I'd take Xerun 150a over the Mamba Monster any day.
I'm talking about the internal BEC
caster blocks
so far 102mph but i crashed it so i cant run my car
Nvm
No it is not.
