I enjoy all of your videos regarding communication systems, very cool, should have taken electronics back in High school instead of wood shop, However now at 54 I can build you a state of the art ham-shack I guess I did Ok? Thanks for the "but." I need the feedback. I think the GoPro Cam is going to be a bust for tabletop type videos. I'm going to have to come up with a way to have the camera on a tripod or something looking over my shoulder. I think the GoPro will be good when I do field videos - like setting up antennas.
Great video, Hank! All things being equal though, mount the camera on a tripod or something to keep it still. The slight movements of the camera in this video messed with my head a little. Still, great information though!
Man I really dig your videos. Your delivery is great and knowledgeable. The new go pro III is great. Now the but (please I'm not a troll) there is too much motion from the head mount. Just my 2 cents probably not worth 1. Whit
The parts to get my ham remote start setup are slowly coming together…muhahahah. Actually a friend and I were talking about setting our GMRS repeaters up for remote shut down to keep some who don't need to be on our repeaters off. Little expensive for a single station though considering we're building the repeaters for under $50 a piece. Now, some of the other locations where we have packet, ham, and GMRS together would be a good place to use this.

Does it make a difference if it's simplex or through a repeater ? other then distance ?
As long as the signal is strong enough for the decoder, it should be fine.

That’s great and all but what prevents someone recording the DTMF tones and playing them back messing with your repeater ?
