      @@AmateurWanderlust don't want to criticize anybody... But I can see that many masala travel vloggers with their almost 50 percent content as waste (most part including their daily stuffs or personal photoshoots), have millions of subscribers... But vloggers like dheeraj bhai, where content is so updated and to the point, have so less.... I think dheeraj bhai should also publish these vlog in purely English as well, so as to attract foreign tourists

    We are traveling to Leh Ladakh starting from Delhi by bike on April 27, scheduled plan via through Srinagar -> Kargil -> Padum -> Ladakh, just thinking if we can ride through new route as we saw in news a couple of weeks back that this route Manali -> Nimmu -> Padum -> Darcha route got opened. What is your suggestion that which route we can travel by this month April 27th

    • @discoverwithdheeraj
      @discoverwithdheeraj  5 месяцев назад +2

      Highly likely you will not be allowed on that new route for now.. only essential supplies, administrative vehicles traveled and it may take couple of months for road to get stable and fit for travel officially.. so chances are less than 10% i will say

      Most of the places do not have bathroom stops especially at Manali Leh Highway. On that place you will be only limited with open places or make shift dhabhs dry pits. Srinagar Leh Higway is mostly full of civilization after every 60-70 km where you will find some dhabha or restaurant for stops.

    We are planning to travel on 27 by our own car (Suv but not 4x4) From Delhi to Leh and then cover Ladakh and then return via Leh Manali Highway.
    Q1. Will we be allowed via Srinagar To Leh via our own non 4x4 car?
    Q2. Any idea if Manali to Leh Road will be open by 5th of May?
    Q3. Do we need to have tyre chains? If yes can we get on rent near Srinagar? Or do we need to buy?
    Please do answer. Thanks great update video.

    • @discoverwithdheeraj
      @discoverwithdheeraj  4 месяца назад +1

      1. You may or may not be. It all depend on the conditions on that day of the road and all.
      2. Manali Leh road may not be open or at least stable/safe by that time. Next two weeks is what they were planning to clear the road, subject to weather. In early days, it is very unsafe to travel.
      3. Srinagar to Leh, it is should be OK unless snowfall does not happen again. No renting of chains as far as I know. you will need to buy them

    Gr8 Info Dheeraj bhai ! Last year we went to Ladakh on May 18th but they did not allow us to travel via any way post Darcha bridge. Local people were saying it took unusual time to open these routes. So then we had to take second option to travel Spiti Valley. This time we don't want to take a chance and will go to Ladakh on Sept 21,2024. So the question is, is it a good time to visit Zanskar and Ladakh ?

    Sorry to know that you could not reach Kaza this time. I was expecting a hair raising VLog on Winter Spiti! Maybe you have something exciting to share with us.
    I am awaiting your update for May, for reasons you know already. I don't know if Nimoo Padum road will be open for public by June 2nd week. Bitumen surfacing needs to be completed. As per BRO, it maybe completed by August 2024 or so, which means clearance maybe given only for the next year.
    So for me, Leh-Kargil-Padum-Manali by shared taxis will be the only way out this time.

      Always a pleasure to start this series sir that helps 1000s every year.. Well, yeah, I wanted to visit but some personal circumstances and frequent landslides between Reckong Peo and Kaza on daily basis forced us to quit the chase.. but I did explore something very offbeat and unique in Himachal before concluding my trip...
      Yes, the new stretch will be a question mark for now but I am sure adventure seekers will find ways not that local and authorities have traveled on the road already :)

      @@discoverwithdheeraj Dheeraj you said it.
      Two of my friends have been exploring Spiti in the first week of April by public transport. I don't know if they were successful in reaching Kaza from Peo.
      The weather seems to be wicked this time with extended winter in Ladakh and Spiti.
      I don't know how lucky I will be in the first and second week of June covering Kaza-Manali, Manali-Leh and Leh-Padum-Manali by road.
      If permitted by the BRO and local drivers willing to drive, a 4x4 shared taxi should ferry me from Leh to Padum via Nimoo and then on to Manali via Shinku La.
      In all probability, I should be able to do the Manali-Leh highway and the Kargil-Padum-Manali stretch in the second week of June.

But will cover that in next month update.. for now, tourists, in general, are not disturbed by the bandhs and the protests but it is wise to stay tuned to the news/updates on how things are unfolding. The main thing to keep in mind is that if a strike/bandh is announced in the market then shops will be closed. So, you will need to stock up on previous days on any supplies/eateries you want to buy when traveling to other places in Ladakh.

      I do not think in any likelihood Manali Leh will open before middle of May, all weather dependent too. Mostly they may open the road but the challenge remains that tourists are not allowed due to risky conditions at Baralacha La Pass. So, even if they make the road through by end of April, highly unlikely road will open for general tourists without snowchains/4x4 vehicles that early.

Manali Leh is expected to open in next two weeks, at least made through. We will know more then when it may become stable. Well, it will surely be tough but not impossible as people have done with hatchbacks. Early in season makes it more difficult especially around passes like Shinkula... Do you have any experience in driving these roads? Also you should not love your car when taking up there or love adventure more than your car :D

    It's possible for me to travel to ladakh only by 31st may... Otherwise, i need to decide some other place for travel... I'm a solo traveller but will be coming in an organized group trip. Do u suggest visiting ladakh in may 15 to 25 period? Or should i search for any other place?..if ladakh visit is possible, should i go for the flight mode or bike travel (i have been driving since 3-4 years n I'm good at the same but have never drove at such high altitudes).

      If you are going in a group of travelers then you can fly in and join your group to explore Ladakh on taxi.. do bike ride once you gain some experience on riding in rhe higher hills

    Will the road be open on both sides and snow be cleared by that time?

    • @kenagrawal
      @kenagrawal 5 месяцев назад

      In simple terms, yes they both are the same things. Earlier there was a permit which is not replaced with an environmental fee but some people still call it a permit.

    • @discoverwithdheeraj
      @discoverwithdheeraj  4 месяца назад

      My bad.. I should have added it in this video..

      I highly doubt that Manali Kaza road will open by that time. All depends on weather. For itinerary check How to plan a road trip to Spiti Valley from Shimla in 10 days? [2024 Best Spiti Valley Itinerary]: ruclips.net/video/g3dzmou9o3Y/видео.html

      Hello Julie, Well, the road from Shimla - Kinnaur side is open but from Manali side it will be closed and open later by middle to end of May all weather dependent. So, if you plan to go and come from Shimla side, you can plan the trip. Check my itinerary video which has two plans and one of them cover Shimla side only plan: ruclips.net/video/g3dzmou9o3Y/видео.html
