my coworker and i do a k400 in about 6-8 hours. I do the top liner and my coworker does the bottom liner. you don't really need to let the backing hardened as long as you run it slow(need to do anyway to break it in). in emergency you can just use abc as backing. But this is an excellent video showing how cone liner changes are done, every cone is different but still kinda the same
Man that's good time....I dont usually work on the crushers but the last liner change we did the backing goo got into the threads of the head nut....I had to cut it out with a cutting torch...it was a 15 hour process from start to finish....then had to explain to the boss the next morning why we were down so long😳
I’m working at a mine and at one of they want to use a thicker line in one of the crushers , the liner is 1 tonne heavier than the current liner . Do you think we need to perform an analysis to see if the structure can withstand the extra weight or Load factors account for that ?
Mantsha Hlokwa increasing the weight of mantle might lead to shaking whole machine due to unbalancing the eccentric counter weight balance. The weight and shape of liners are reasonably calculated and designed by manufacturer in order to perform in best condition.

It takes about 2hours for whole liner replacement and needs to wait another 5hrs for hardening the backing compound inside the mantle core. Therefore it takes total 7hrs.
