Apologies for the weird German bot spam - youtube catches most of them, but more have been getting through lately and I prefer to leave my comments a bit more "open" so real posts don't get flagged as often.
Only reason the still aren't is a mixture of the Italian player base screeching and their own incompetence making the pt boat correct because the dev thought it was a different gun
12.7mm buff really helped Italy, these things are really fun to use. Breda 88 is probably my favourite, I remember getting like 10 kills in a single GRB battle with it. I haven't played it in Air battles (AAB) in ages but I just might try it again. Rank II has some amazing stuff so I can't wait for a video covering it.
Fun fact, by my research, the prototype CR.42DB, which had a Daimler-Benz DB 601 V12 engine of 753 kW (1,010 hp), still holds the world record for the fastest biplane at 525km/h (326 mph). I don't know if it was ever weaponized, but if it was it should be in War Thunder.
It was but was already obsolete and the engines were rare so it was taken apart. That's why they made the re.2002 dive bomber while making the re.2005 as a fighter.
thanks for the info. Btw, being from Serbia, and a aircraft history buff, I know somr crazy facts that people in the West aren't aware of when it comes to Yugoslavia. But, anyway, one of the lesser fun fun facts is that, as we had both Hurricanes and Messerchmitt bf 109s, we tried to increase the Hurricane's speed by putting the DB601 into it. The plane was called the LVT-1 but it was known as the "Hurrischmitt" ... It was last seen in combat over Kosovo... Btw,we have the only surviving FiatG.50 in the world and Italy wants it back so we're having a little bit of a scuffle there..
One of my favorite things to do is the "historical Italian WWII experience" and take a ground RB line up of M13/40, L6-40, AB 41, Semoventes 47/32, 75/18 plus c.202 or Re.2001 and a Stuka or SM.79 and play it at 3.3 and higher matches.
It was a request made by the aces of the Regia Aereonautica , the majority of them came from the 1936 Spanish civil war campaign and the Ethiopia invasion were they were effective with the predecessor ( CR32 ) and preferred the high maneuverability of the biplane also vs the mono such as the G50 or Macchi 200 . But in late 1941 when the Macchi C202 appeared , then they realized that the DB601 was a resource to be used in better equipment.
Italian aviation is honestly ALL really fun until you get to jets. Their props, even the bombers, are incredibly effective. Some of them get screwed in matchmaking and repair costs, but having spaded them all myself, they were all fun and worth playing anyway.
@@TheFlyingPancakeReal Oh yeah, the Sparviero line is fantastic as well. All can destroy at least two bases even with just the 100kg bomb loads. I've also used the Z.1007 for Rank III bombing tasks so much that I have a free ace crew on it.
I created a new account to work on some trees I don't want to bother with on my main account. I chose Italy because literally all of their aircraft have EFS and API/API-T. I took out the Breda 88 in Realistic and was able to destroy a base, pull a 180 and kill the fighter who was chasing me, turn and crit another who was chasing me as well, then pull another 180 and kill another guy who was chasing me. It is a CRAZY Tier 1 Striker. It's performance is pretty wild and it can do things that even dedicated fighters at that BR can't. Plus you get a gunner as well. Just wow.
Light machine guns? The Italian .50s with explosive rounds are brutal. Keep away from the tracer belt, the HEF round is the real workhorse, and they're low velocity, so use more lead than you're used to. The 12.7s on the Ki series use the same ammo, so those are punchy as well
Irl they weren't considered light until having to shoot down American bombers. The British in east Africa coveted the he shells cause same caliber as Vickers mkv
Don´t think the G.50s MGs were "light"? That SAFAT thing was not well liked here (Sweden) however. Nowhere NEAR as effective as M2s or the much more common 13.2mm, then. Which is a brutal BEASt compared to the pretty mediocre SAFAT. But it is still some kind of HMG or cannon (here), not light? ;) Italians are pretty fun here, the biplanes are cool.
What do you think about the reserves? I think, with air targets ammunition, they are the best. They can take down any plane with some well aimed shots.
The G.50 model in War Thunder is terrible. It only bares a passing resemblance to the actual aircraft. They should fix it. It's a good performer though at lower ranks.

Man, looking at the CR42, I'm getting flashbacks to when those Italian machine guns were less than useless. How far they've come.

I can't believe the CR.42 experimentally had a Daimler-Benz DB 601 put into it, those Italians really loved biplanes

I tend to agree, I had a really fun time grinding out the Italian tree "back in the day" even before some of the ammo belts got improved.
The P.108 is an example, it can destroy 2 bases alone and still having a 500kg bomb remaining

Thank you for the advice for Marcolin's C.R.42 CN becouse i got 4 kills with that plane at the first match
I was flying my Galer's F3F-2 just yesterday. But I did it in realistic. BTW, the G.50 has heavy machineguns. Not light.
Can you make this for every Rank in every Tree pleaseeee🙏
Working on rank 1 for all the trees first (I linked the playlist at the end of the episode), we'll see what happens after that ;-)
12.7mm he is nuts. simple as.
You should do France next for low tier fun tier. The reserve and 1.0-1.7 are the only French planes I’ve ever played but damn are they fun
The best attacker gotta be the B.65 K.14

Breda 88 was built with an excessively heavy and big airframe - it needed to lose some of that belly

Breda 88 was the most fun I had with low tier Italy
Breda 88 is actually amazing plane but yes the only bad thing is the engine and quite sluggish
The engine isn't so bad if u use mec the instructor really hates radials
@@TheAngelobarker yeah but i cant use MEC lol

love the chaos of air arcade (all the way to 10.0 BR)
I usually switch to RB around 8.0, it gets pretty toxic past that - just flooded with cheat squadrons and spawn campers.
@@TimsVariety yeah pretty much I just avoid those two squadrons lol. 9.3 to 10 actually really comfy with plenty of premium players to farm :)

Great video! Just unlocked the F-100D and can't quite figure it put. And there's not a lot of videos about it. wonder if you could make a video on it?
The F-100 will be getting a review in my normal format in the medium term.
No not everyone does that at rank one I hate arcade with a passion I play RB right from the get go
Plz do France air
👍 Thank-You! 😍
Would you consider making your settings (config.blk) available for download? ✌
Nice departure from missile thunder
0:35 I would argue that if you are skilled then taking some of them into Air RB is preferred.
RB is __VERY__ slow paced at the low tiers, which is why I think the playerbase skews towards AB so heavily in the low ranks.
It’s super slow and boring like watching paint dry. Me and the dudes I play with enjoy them chaos and speed of arcade
Low tier isn’t fun when cw21 came in
amazing video! please do fr*nch (🤢🤮) aircraft next
Going through all the factions left to right.

just my personal opinion, but ive always hated the breda and found it incredibly anoying to use
arcade...
Yep, just like 90% of the rest of the playerbase in rank 1 vehicles.
Pls do f14 v f14 bvr like they do in dcs
