I don't understand why it was all a prank and why he didn't keep the holy chicken open. It was literally telling the truth and it being open was actually an inspiration I think he did the wrong thing by not staying open if it was his fault
I want to tell to all the farmers that speak up in this movie.I have so much respect, pride and love for you guys.Keep your head up we need more people like you i am proud to be an American thanks to you.
Its a real conundrum what they're going through. If they fail to meet their contracts, my opinion, they'll probably lose the lien Big Chicken has on their property and Big Chicken will own their farm and hire people to run the farm. We aren't seeing it but, my guess is that big corporations are literally siezing farmland across America. This film shows how deep real fascism in America has become. Great Reset...2030...World Economic Forum..."you'll own nothing and you WILL be happy." Terrifying.
I enjoyed watching this documentary. There are a lot of people here in the comments wondering why he didn't keep it open. I never really felt like he would keep it open or go any further, it was just a punchline for the movie. I felt bad for the farmers who faced real world repercussions for taking part in it. I was sad for the farmer at the end when he genuinely thought that this was going to be a solution for family farms to move chicken at a fair price. I feel like he was mislead a lot more off camera than we got to see. Morgan put together a good story but it was on the backs and at the expense of these farmers that have to go on living in the aftermath of this. What a terrible position to be in.
Awesome! Thank you for making this video, just watched the documentary and was curious to see what the building looks now. I hope it's in better condition than when Morgan found it!
Seems like a waste for a test site to be opened only 3 days. Doesn't look like the Big Chicken Conspiracy Cabal didn't need to unload massive amounts of resources to shut him down. All it took was the typical activist stamina to run out in a few months and an accusation in 2018/2019.
@GRM Adventures First of all it is an expense towards his documentary. He will gain the money back when people pay to watch it or or if doesn't make the money it would be a tax write off.
more adventure dude.. it was all to make a MOVIE.... the store... the refurb... the “employees”... all paid for.... it was never meant to be “real”. jesus...
Sad to see the restaurant never really picked up steam… that, or just a major publicity stunt for Morgan’s new documentary. He seemed very determined to actually franchise the business. Was curious to know what his next project would be. Sadly, he has passed away yesterday.
In a weird way it's almost good it isn't wendys... lets be honest theyd dun screw up the design for sure! Hopefully something takes over and doesn't fuck up the design.
It's just a documentary to expose the fast food restaurants' so called "healthy option" aka chicken aren't really all that healthy. It's just marketing. Morgan just went a step beyond-from the very beginning, chicken farmer, to the very last step, fast food restaurant- to showcase a point of the fast food industry.
Seemed from Spurlock's film that it could have been a viable business. I wonder why they didn't continue it. Seems unprincipled and fraudulent to leave off like that.
Morgan, When U Read This Can I Explain Why U Closed The Door's On Your Holy Chicken Facility ?? Us Readers Don't Understand ?? I'll Check The Comments Everyday 2 C If I Have Replied With An Answer.....T.U. Tony
Yes....US readers DO understand. It's quite obvious he was telling his story in the Documentary and opened the restaurant as a real live example to use in the documentary. Yeesh people......sooooooo obvious.
Just got done watching the documentary and he said he was opening more restaurants. Crazy to think that he left this one behind just to move to his state in New York. Would’ve thought it would’ve been nice to see like one in every state, but with as much chickens he can raise makes sense to only have one... but honestly could have like 2-3 restaurants opened and just get more chickens. Makes me sad
Most of you commenting may not understand the experiment. As a farmer, this is a wake up call for those in the city to know what goes on before the grocery store. Control and money from those who don't have chicken $#!+ on their boots, nothing left for the farmer who works for a living.
The farmers should just organized and create their own Union and sell the chicken direct to the people why go through the government or through big business corporations when they can do it themselves
So is it fair to say that Spurlock gaslit the farmers into believing his fake franchise was real and lead to them being "blackballed" and subsequently ruined their lives and farming business?
I would have totally ate at holy chicken, to help further the cause... So eye opening, and sad that the chicken coop owner, got black balled... I'm so sure this happens in other business types. I say keep the real store going.. "feel free to move around in the free range area"
John Oliver does a GREAT takedown of big chicken and their tournament style business practices. Anyone who enjoyed watching Holy Chicken should also check out the John Oliver episode here on RUclips.
Why did they close after 3 days?? I've seen the documentary and it was doing great, plus the owner received requests from investors that wanted to expand the restaurant
Thanks for posting this. 'Super Size Me 2' was an eye opener for me. as others have said below, I want to tell to all the farmers that speak up in this movie.I have so much respect, pride and love for you guys.
His original Super Size me movie made $22 million in profit. It isn't an issue for him to pay for all this to make the second one even as just a 4 day stunt jab at Tyson.

One of mine does still have the old school look although the sign was replaced due to sign damage. The other two remodelled to a boxier design.
