From executive producers Taylor Sheridan (1883) and David Oyelowo (Selma) comes the untold story of the most legendary lawman in the Old West: Bass Reeves. LAWMEN: BASS REEVES follows the journey of Reeves (Oyelowo) and his rise from enslavement to law enforcement as one of the first Black U.S. Deputy Marshals west of the Mississippi. Despite arresting over 3,000 outlaws during his career, the weight of the badge was heavy, and he wrestled with its moral and spiritual cost to his beloved family.

As a fan, I hope that when David Oyelowo recieves that Life Time Achivement award and the clips from Bass Reeves is played, people will remember how this sparked a renewal of historic western tales that show the greater truth of American old west that show how many great peace keepers(lawmen or just citizens) really did care for life over race.

Lawmen:Bass Reeves mini-series totally denigrates the true Bass Reeves Legacy of a legendary lawman. Bass Reeves deserves better. As David said initially that the Bass Reeves story tells itself.
