- The FINAL day in Yangon before we start the journey to Ngapali in Rakhine State. Join us celebrate the Buddhist Water Festival Thingyan at the Luxury Hotel Pan Pacific. Due to the current situation, it does mean that many people are not celebrating as they normally would.

Thanks again for showing the side of Myanmar that not many people know about. Unfortunately, many stay inside their homes during these tough times, and very few celebrate outside. In the past, roads were crowded with people celebrating and having fun, and you could hear music everywhere. I hope it will be like that again in the future. High hopes for a brighter future for Myanmar. 🇲🇲
Man Thingyan used to be so fun back in the day but now we can't even celebrate freely with bright spirit.

real all I did in the thingyan school break was playing with water on streets and it was so FUN

It is still fun, just elsewhere. It wasn't fun for me past Thagyan parties were. I lived in Inya road and most of the street was devastated after everyone gone home. Electricity lines were cut and water pipes were punctured by Mandut builders and drainage were filled with urine and litter. Also we couldn't go anywhere during the whole Thagyan because roads are closed and filled with people came from around the country. People are so rude, loud and drunk like animals. Many pissed at our fences and littered. some even threw rocks into our front yard to get some mangoes from trees. I really hated it and very glad that Thagyan became normal festival not a mad one. People only knew to have fun, never thought about the locals.
@@NgarKua Well, it's undeniable that people may have different hypothesis on this topic whereas what remain true is we don't have a spirit of fun as we once had due to the political situation here.
when peace is restored in myanmar i hope u guys come again and visit mandalay to experience the real thingyan of us.

@@dabbleandtravel you guys were lucky. Right now, the township Ngapali is in is a warzone because of Arakan Army offensive on the junta. I heard the whole state is in blockade

First of all,Ngapali is in Rakhine State which is literally a whole state level war zone.The junta is not doing well.Hope you say this in your upcoming video.I am a fan of yours.

Looks like you guys had a great time in Yangon. Nice place to visit. The Water Festival looks like a lot of fun. Harriet and I went to one in Lao (The Lao Water Festival ) called Pi Mai Lao celebrated around April 15th. It's the New Year. It's a very important festival in Lao. Lao People and visitors celebrate with parades of people walking down streets getting splashed and
drenched with water cannons, squirt guns etc. It's the largest in the world. Will you be going there any day soon.? Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Myanmar can come

Very nice record of Myanmar. It's so strange to see Ngapali so empty in the summer. It is usually a popular summer resort. Very sad situation as the war affects civilians lives. I used to live in Yangon. I see Yangon changed since I left.

Trip No.1.Bagan, Nyaung-U and Mount Popa;
Trip No.2.Mandalay,Pyin Oo Lwin, Innwa,and Kyauk Se;
Trip No.3.Ako Mountain (Pyi);
Trip No.4 Taunggyi, Innlay, Pindaya Cave..
There are many other trips but not safe..

Burma (Myanmar) was the most developed and the best country in Southeast Asia for many reasons when the country was under the British government's rule. The country was starting to go down into the drain since the Brits left this beautiful nation. Now the country is named "a failed state" by the United Nations and a few other countries around the globe. Sad 😢

Sorry you had to come during this time as you barely experienced anything. Thingyan is really fun and WILD. I would say better than Songkran cuz you'll be wet whether you like it or not. I used to go with my group having water wars with other groups from different streets. Ah... good times.

Understanding of course the political situation, are you feeling any safety issues? It looks beautiful and that you have been free to walk around and even film. I see you advising to come when things one day change for the better, yet you are there and continuing to travel around. A few months back cruise ships were arriving, not sure if they still are.
Not in Yangon, although the city is quite you don’t hear or see too much. The fighting is mainly Outside of major cities , but in the next few videos we do show a different side of Myanmar.

Correct. We chose not to post whilst in the country so what you see is a few weeks behind.
