Awesome advice & video! The Lift guys have a video that suggests people AVOID boards equal to their weight in liters. They suggest either full floater or full sinker; with middle sizes being “corky” (not something by you can actually sink, not something you can float in)…. Curious your thoughts? Having a 75L board at 75kg?
Thanks for watching. I totally disagree with that sure you can go +\- 5-10liters why not. Starting as beginner you do body weight plus 20L but for me the 2nd board the most comfortable is equal body weight. Full sinker I tried needs to be super windy to get started I tried works but too much work getting started. Remember I am also not 20😆
@@StandUpMagazin +100 to a +20 board for the importance and safety of being able to "schlogg" in less than paradisiac conditions (e.g. not at Kanaha 😁)
Great review.. what do you weigh and what downwind board is your go to.. I love my 107 armstrong DW as my main board and i weigh about 90 KG dry. No way i can sup foil it though.. Unless maybe i got really good on bigger board first.
Thanks for watching... stoked to see many people like it. In the beginning of the video we are talking about that. I am 75KG the DW board I have is 121L I am sure I could go down a few liters but the width of 21" is kind of as narrow I can go...
Cheers man, great video.
Stoked thanks man for the kind words. Will try to keep it coming.

Stoked thanks for supporting glad o could contribute. 🤙🏽

@@JeanMichelTrivi yea safety is kind of important. Lost my board once 1mile out was very scary
@StandUpMagazin for every year after 30 its add 1 liter per 2 years. im 62yr, 100kg I use a 115 ltr to sup, 135ltr to downwind, 100ltr to wing.
@@garys4204 love the calculation. 🤓

@@StandUpMagazin Thanks.. I just figured 121 pretty big at your KG.. I do find my 107 fairly tippy to slog, Cheers.
@@AkSeapilot how wide is your 107?
@@StandUpMagazin 107L: 7’2 x 20 ¼” x 5 ¾” , rider weight 85-95kg (190-210lbs) Eight 13.2-14.6 lbs yours is 121L: 7’7 x 21” x 5 ⅞” , rider weight 95-105kg (210-230lbs)
@@AkSeapilot thanks yes I think I could have gone smaller but the width really makes me nervous.
