I Built My Next Giant Vivarium II and It's Ready For Life

- Опубликовано: 26 сен 2024
- After months of planning and anticipation, I've built my second giant ecosystem vivarium, which will be an extened biological world of my cloud rainforest vivarium, Pantdora, however this new vivarium will simulate a tree canopy. Building the structure for the tank was truly a mission, and I couldn't wait to start landscaping, but a certain volcanic eruption event nearby had greatly altered my plans. Hope you enjoy this Season 2, Episode 11 of my Ecosystem Vivarium Series. Ant love forever! This video was shot in 4K Ultra HD resolution.

“Giant vivarium 2” needs a name. Since it’s going to be a treetop, I suggest Yggdrasil. The tree of life from norse myth, that connects all worlds together.
outer wilds pfp spotted, comment liked
ooooo that or if he wants to maintain the same name, if there is a large treelike plant that goes between the two sections it can be Yggdrasil. Since it would connect the two vivariums.
I hope he picks that name

It would be so cool if the cannopy part would be called "Gondolin" or a variation of that name.
Gondolin was a city, located in a hidden valley, only accessible through one pathway with a giant bridge. And, as it was in a *hidden* valley, only those who knew the exact location had access to it (much like the cannopy now!).

Oooof, this episode....! I have three things I want to comment on:
1. That foreworker is the most amazing person ever. I would have freaked out if you told me 'Yeaa, you know, there are huntsman spiders and a croc in there but... you'll be fiiiiine.' Mad respect.
2. I never thought I'd say that but... bro, your house is to small! Where do you want to put the other 6 add-ons to Pantdora? Like the caves, do you have a secret cellar or something where Pantdora might lead to?
3. I distinctly remember that, back when you did the Vivarium for the Fire Ants (I joined only a few months before that and I think it was the first complete vivarium I saw you build live) I wondered about that exact problem, if ants in an open air vivarium wouldn't escape that way. I never got an answer back then, now... well, I know :D
Crazy, but fun episode! Hope your headache after this twist isn't too bad and you get this under control somehow!
He's answered the question about aired setups and nuptial flights before. Putting a big light above them keeps them all in the same area because they're attracted to it... and anything loose in the house will die from the AC.
This would only be an issue if they got into one of the other systems.
@@robbybevard8034 It still just seems like such an unnecessary risk, especially with a species as volatile as fire ants. Like, why take the risk? I love most of what he does, but this one feels like a really bad mistake to have made that he should have known better.
@@allgreatfictions He's done it many times before. And he had time to set up his camera equipment *before* he dramatically moved all his lights into place.
He wasn't THAT much in a rush to fix it.
I suspect this is a case where he's playing up the drama to get a cliffhanger more than a real mistake. Same with the last time he "left the doors open." but still had time to set up a dramatic camera shot of him running there and closing in a panic. And exactly one frog got out.
@@robbybevard8034 And one Huntsman got in too
@@Tank50us That there just *happened* to be an *extra* pregnant Huntsman the same size as the other one, randomly in the one room, is when I started to understand how much of this staged a little bit for the sake of drama. Which is fine, all documentaries do this, you're capturing raw wild footage, you have to do what you have to do to create a narrative, and sometimes that means staging things.
I bet he's going to be "surprised" when that Mantis egg sac suddenly bursts open loaded with babies. He keeps saying "I guess it's a dud" but knows at this point it can take a year for those things to gestate.
next addition will be a horizontal vivarium for more aquatic creatures XD
By that time, he will have to relocate everything to a bigger building or warehouse as that's the only way possible to keep expanding without causing obstructions or complications for maintenance

Greetings from Germany and i can't wait for the next Episode! ☺️🖤
Would you consider 45 minute episodes? I just can’t get enough!
yea that would be great
That would eat up to much of his time! We need something more low effort, we need a live stream
it would take twice as long to shoot, and edit. so we'd probably only get 1 episode a month, i rather like his weekly episodes.
He might start doing it when he does the other 2 vivariums more content to see, that or he might hire someone to film while he does what he needs to do around the house with other creatures and other tanks but eh who knows
This is wild nature stuff. He doesn't necessarily get enough interesting footage every week to make that and still have it be interesting or well paced. Plus he has to write scripts and edit. Turning a 20 minute video into 40 doesn't mean double the quality.
Love it how the AC family are now effectively employing a small army of skilled workers as the channel grows 👷♂️👷👷♀️👷👷♂️👍

Thanks a lot man, i was searching for a channel like this for ages.
I'm not sure it'd be possible with the baby caiman now inhabiting the water, but I think it'd be interesting to see a turtle of some kind inhabit the water at some point too! Maybe after the baby caiman outgrows the water. Some dragonflies would also be really cool; their larvae are actually aquatic and would make a great addition to Pantdora. Also, I love your content, this series has had me captivated. Keep up the good work :)
After the canopy, the next vivarium is set to be a marsh ecosystem :)
This is awesome but I'm curious why you chose not to have the canopy vivarium be fully connected to the lower vivarium instead of using a narrow tunnel?
I think a fully open 2 story vivarium with trees that go from bottom to top would be so cool
I looked into it and turns out it was impossible to do structurally as beams below the new tank and above Pantdora were needed to keep my home together allegedly!
yea i was hoping the opening would be as wide as the vivarium so that you could put larger branches though it or be open enough for a small bird to be able to fly down or land animals to accidently fall down but probably the same structure problem cant wait to finish binging the season :)
How is he posting 20+ min cinematic masterpiece like every week

I love how he narrates like he’s in a children’s show. It almost feels nostalgic
It’s meant for children. It’s why I can look past the stupid, “I left my door open again!” He is telling stories to children and adults at the same time.
And the drama music! Lol it's whole hearted entertainment.
Really because I haaaaaate it.

I hope the conection between the two tanks doesnt create a choke point, where all the high level predators camp to farm the noobs. Or in other words, prepare for huntsman meta at both ends of the glas bridge and maybe plan a nerf ahead the potential exploit.
It was foreshadowed since the Crimson Nights episodes
