  • Cattle egrets are known for following cattle through pasture but differ from other white egrets in size, plumage habitat and diet. This video is filmed mostly in the Hunter Valley where there is a breeding colony with inclusion of some clips from North Queensland

    The orange plumage is very striking. An interesting bird, the way it associates with the cattle for feeding reminds me of the Willie Wagtail sitting on a kangaroos back or a sheep head to get at the flies. Nice observation of how the juveniles learn to fly in circles around the pond. I would not have picked up on that. Some beautiful clips in this video😊👍
