Holy shit it was two white doves and a hit of lsd. brings me back to our first rave. We were all 19, 20.21 yrs old . We were hooked bad! Going out to a underground after driving 4 hrs through various check points to throw the cops off. We just couldnt belive what was happing right under the noise of normal society. Sound systems , lights, no fights hug sluts love and drugs! Oh to be young in one our worlds oddest music movements.

Love this mix from start to finish! Pure old skool rave at it very best! Even though I am only 28 and don't truly remember the rave era I can easily say this is waaay better than that dubstep crap that people call 'dance music' these days! Prodigy everybody in the place and wax doctor's new direction are what the chav's need to listen to!!! HARDCORE WILL NEVER DIE!!!

I was working the other day and met a 23yr old and he loved the old rave tunes, I was happy to get my phone out and play him some of the best rave tunes ever made.
Oh, this is giving me shivers and wonderful memories ... but I never for one moment thought I'd be listening to this with my yellow rubber gloves on doing the washing up and cleaning the house! :)

Man I wish I was alive at that time, the whole rave culture just seemed so fresh, exciting and underground. Sounds like a really magical time. Oh well :)
I feel the same! Normally I think people who say "I was born in the wrong generation!!" are being silly, but I wish we had events like this in the UK now, with the same mass popularity. Paying lots of money to go to a club is not the same as going to a rave, and none of the underground events are as popular now as they were then.

From what I can remember, and like many of us of a similar vintage, my memory is a little (chemically induced), hazy, but yeah, it was a fuckin blast.
It's a friday night in late June. It's 10:20pm. I'm sat at my computer still catching up with work. 25 years ago at this time on a Friday night in late June, I'd just have been coming up as the strong Ecstasy, LSD and Phet were working their own special kinda magic.

46 year old now still listen to the oldskool now and again brings it right back. Started listening to illegal rave stations in 91 going raving in 92 - 94, good times, the scene, music, vibe died by 94.

Allover Scotland outta Glasgow Raves were a plenty & packed rave -caves ,full a class substance's that gave you the best ever love-dove effect mainly Dove-Music for the Masses. A pray it all comes back only Bigger + Bolder as at the minite going in to 2018 more and more club's are closing -down as time's have changed,the memorys alone i have of back in 1989-1993 and running a club in Glasgow was amazing Wed - Sundays with reggea Wed to Rave Student Nights every thursday and sunday was yir Money-Man's night out ,and SLAM with being 12 DJs back then made it soooooo GOOOOOD ....Will we see this again as it would be a generation that changed millions uo & down the whole UK .....Choons R Bangin 0/
Bought my first rave & breaks cd when I was 10 back in 92! Too young for the scene then, but I got going around 97 free parties. Raving in the clubs 2 years later, caught the tale end of def the best days.. and I’m thankful, wish I could go back, more so wish the scene/vibe/people were still like that 🧐 anyway, randomly found myself listening.. I’m 42 minutes in and enjoyed every second, lockdown.. beats on, doing some house work lol.. stay safe people ✌🏻
Raving 89-93, clubbing 94-99. 2000 I have little girl on the way. I suppose I needed her force me to grow up. And it worked.
For me, illegal raves were the best and any rave was better than clubbing. There's just something amazing, kinda tribal, kinda connecting about dancing under the stars, loving life and everyone. Big up everybody with a special mention to the Bristol posse!

Now clubs seem to be filled with pissed up ket heads wanting to kick your head in 💀 Still rave my arse off to these old tunes when I get the chance (usually at home alone, pretending I'm back at the Gallery Leeds)😂

For sure the best rythmes and basslines ever rolled. Synths parts got more and more complex over the years and decades then lost their original ryhtme and counter rythme core architecture wich was what made this kind of music so hypnotic. Music nowdays is nothing but overdesigned and super complex always louder and dumber' sound. 88'-93 clearly were the best years.
