The US Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and The Joint Commission (TMC) still use the 2012 edition so you might run into some issues if you change the policies of your facility to match the 2021 version. Also CMS requires that you follow manufacturer's recommended procedures for PM. It is annoying that the NFPA updates the regulations every 3 years but the people who accredit and license heath care facilities are slow to change their regulations to match.
CMS does allow for AEM for PM's This should allow you to deviate. www.cms.gov/medicare/provider-enrollment-and-certification/surveycertificationgeninfo/downloads/survey-and-cert-letter-14-07.pdf
Hey man, I’m thinking about attending college soon to become a biomedical engineering technician. Can you describe the difficulty level of this job? I’m usually average when it comes to being booksmart, but I am clumsy and very inexperienced when it comes to things that involve fixing. I can only learn quickly if it’s a repetition of hands-on demonstration. So I would like to know what my odds are of doing well in this career. Thanks for the videos, they have been very helpful in seeing how you guys work.
Ok, so im assuming RPTs are what we called power strips? For any newer biomeds, the nomenclature of biomeds is sometimes really hard to follow. Different facilities (and even different technicians) have a different name for everything you will do. Understanding that became critical to my understanding. Be patient. You will get it 😊
