Good skills! And a good link with the local Police. Good chaps. You have the same weather as when we got off the ferry at the Hoek last year and rode down through Belgium before heading south. I always get wet there! Good to see you back. Safe, happy travels 👍
This is a very good motorcycle school to teach you control of your motorcycle. Really above and beyond exercises for training to hone your slow speed riding skills.
I have a 2022 cb500x, the bike has more than enough torque including a little back braking to use the clutch for low speed maneuvers. I'll give you credit, you have great touch on the throttle .
Yeah with the cones it was no problem, it went a bit fast even. With the rings the parking lot was a bit off-camber, when going up I felt the bike struggling. With a bit of throttle the exercise was wayyy easier
This is really interesting, I did a "fit to ride" session in Scotland where it was just about getting riders who passed their test years ago to ride around some cones in a car park and a few struggled with this! I think I'd struggle with some of the tasks you're doing here tbh, that's ehy it's a good idea!
True, I've seen many experienced riders drop their bike on rather easy exercises. Sadly most riders don't think practice is fun or necessary. But when they have to maneuver or swerve, they don't know how to do it safely..
I am so scared of riding in the rain and I do my U-turns in about 10 moves in small streets, I need more slow moving control over my bike, I am just afraid to drop it ! 😔
I recommend starting with some confidence exercises to get a bit more comfortable with your bike and then start with some very easy slow speed exercises on the parking lot and only increase difficulty if you feel like you've 'mastered' the previous difficulty ;) and don't forget to enjoy it! Parking lot exercises can be a lot of fun once you see yourself progress 💪🏻
It's described as 'basic skills' which they are indeed, but many riders have problems with these because they never practice. The course is a yearly Flanders-wide free event organised by the police and it's called 'the day of the motorcyclist'
@@thebrightrider No but the police is present. A motorcycle organisation orginize the whole thing but the police is present and helps out for example with the brake tests and so on. As I once did this brake test, the police in question, aloud me to do the test with higher speed. He clocked me with 140 km/h as I pulled the brakes as hard as I could. Then he started laughing at me. I asked him, why are you laughing? Then he said, now I know something about you. You are not afraid of high speed braking.:-)
Good to see you back! Good reminder to us all! Practice is always a good thing 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for staying and watching :D

Haha yes, bring raingear if you ride through Belgium XD
Well done! That looked pretty tricky especially given the wet conditions.
Nice to see you back! Great practice exercises. Great idea by the local police to put this on as a community builder.
I noticed your friend still has her Versys 650. I'm very happy with mine too. 😊
Haha yes, still have it, still enjoy it so much!!
So cool. One thing i Don’t understand, why isn’t there more people trying this out? I would be all over a event like this 👌🏻👌🏻

Yeah the cb500x is perfect for this!

Well done young fella. !!! That wee screen deflector sure makes a difference in every day riding.

hmm the cone putting and loop is consider advance riding , the rest is easy , whats the course called ?

We have similar trainigsdays in Sweden.
Also organised by the police?
