I think she pays because it's in her name not through lack of Sergio having no money,come on now don't disrespect that man as he has money from football and other business ventures but nothing can be in his name pertaining to property ownership just yet. I don't like these two but it's an immigration matter not a lack of funds.

What I love about this relationship is that Sergio is just another handbag for Caroline, and she will buy a new one the second she gets bored.
This scene clarifies Sergio's desperation for a baby. If everything is in her name and he has no credit, he has little chance of getting much if she was to divorce him. His clinginess comes across like he is holding on to the relationship for dear life and he is afraid to lose the "bag", no pun intended 😂

As the only boy in my family, I'd always see how the "one to carry the last name" was so important and to be honest, very discouraging for the females. It's difficult to deal with a clingy child sometimes especially when you're raising them alone means you cannot catch a break. At least when you raise them with your siblings you can just ship them to a room full of other people. But a clingy adult is difficult! I would be mad all the time.
