    I am so sick of videos of people saying what he could have been this man has went platinum double Platinum triple platinum and even diamond and has even starred in number one movies what the f*** else do you guys want from him?? He's done everything he has to do in music even won a few Grammies there are artists who have come way after him who have said he is one of their favorite artists when you have accomplished everything in music there is nothing else to prove he has nothing else to prove in music The Love below is technically a solo album so I don't know why people are pressuring him to put out an album because if he put out an album and you guys don't like it all you guys are going to do is complain so I don't blame him things are best left the way it is

    "You either dye a hero or live to see yourself live long enough to become a villain" that's Andre in a nutshell. We've seen what happens when a legend gets consumed by fame and fortune (starts with a k and ends with West) and I personally appreciate that 3K left the game. Cause personally, I'm getting tired of all our legends turning into undercover corporate mascots.

    I agree with everyone saying he wasn't stunted. He accomplished a lot during his run, and was very influential. Yeah, he never officially dropped a solo album, but with the work he has given us, and accolades he's gotten, no way I'd say he was stunted. I love the series though, keep it up!

    • @vanessajameson8876
      @vanessajameson8876 2 года назад +2

      I have to agree. I am noticing that a lot of people with the opinion of him stunting himself are usually under a certain age, and I do understand the perspective in that sense. I also do understand that because he never put out a solo body of work in his "prime", many people don't get it. But to say he was stunted and really discount all of the work he has done over the last 29 years is not good. However I know over the last few years, a new generation have developed a microscopic fascination with Andre particularly, because him being a recluse almost makes little sense to some people. Why is someone so great so reclusive, is what seems to be what most people try to figure out and he has always been so private. I think we should celebrate Big Boi and Andre 3000 as the musical icons they were and still are. They both are still keeping up in their own ways and really, I can't say I blame them for doing what they do.

As a fellow Gemini I know that we like to keep to ourselves which I strongly believe he's doing. He's my favorite mc mostly because I can relate to the planetary expression. 3000 isn't coming back to make music, I highly doubt he will. It's all in the name (Outkast) too imo. Since their debut album I knew they weren't going to make music for too long together anyways. 12 years is a long enough time. And Big Boi will continue doing his thing. Goodie Mob too. I honestly don’t want another 3000 album. I like his catalogue. Those of us in the south know that 3000 has Goodie Mob and Dugeon family verses that are classics to go along with his OutKast body of work. I think Jay-Z has misconstrued what success is. If Jay -Z actually retired when he said he was . Would you say his growth was stunted also? 3000’s Love Below album was so far ahead of its time it’s scary. And he made majority if not all the beats. I can respect him leaving the game when the passion is no more vs. these dudes just making quick money off these thoughtless raps diminishing their own legacies.

    3. JC gives it up to the artist EVERYTIME!
    It’s not for everyone to agree with because that’s not always the case with myself. I’m fine with the singles and features because honestly a underwhelming solo project would probably be worse than what we get. 3 Stacks has been great for the culture and I’m glad he’s living his felt purpose

    The all time GOAT!!! Dre changed the way I see, hear, feel and interact with the world and the people in it. The only mcee to ever make me laugh allowed and cry on the same song. I was blessed enough to get to hang with him on 4 occasions and he is as humble and cool as you would imagine him being. The only thing better than the way he raps, is the way he lives!!

    man, i knew he would come into the picture sooner or later. Andre 3000 is always gonna be a tricky slope to determine if his growth was stunned. he did win multiple Grammys and all. But i understand. he could have been one of the biggest solo artists of all time if he just had taken that plunge into it.

      Going 2 jail and music changing is what stunted pats growth. But, at the same time I think he reached his potential as a gangsta rapper from Memphis. His first two official albums are 🔥. Laying the smack down is good 2 but not on the level as the previous 2 and I think he was in jail when that came out. After that it was pretty much downhill as music changed. Also he started messing with different producers which changed his sound more. Project pat is by far my favorite out the hcp and I still bump him to this day.

    I mean no disrespect you because I value the efforts you put in but the story of Andre 3000 is much different than what it is sensationalized to be. Andre has been saying he didn't want to be a rapper in his 40's since the late 90's, even before he recognized social anxieties or social pressures. * I am not a good writer and I do apologize for any repetition or era.
    I know due to the way a lot of old footage and content have been erased or "lost" in the development of social media, it is hard to show sources as proof but that's simply the truth. So there has always been this desire of his to "step away" a bit. And he did, maybe for many reasons but he had always spoken about age. Long, long before he was even old. And now, there seems to be a narrative that gen-z have kind of crafted around Andre that's not completely correct but I think it's possibly due to not necessarily growing up with Outkast in entirety for some or not being old enough to understand the hip-hop landscape at the time in general.

    • @vanessajameson8876
      @vanessajameson8876 2 года назад +2

      lot of people who are too young don't understand the musical landscape Outkast came out of. Some of the appreciation he has been shown over the last year or two specifically is very much superficial and lacking nuance. Outkast came out of The Dungeon Family, the whole group were anomalies in terms of talent. Outkast brought something new and different every single album. By the time Andre and Big Boi made their last album, rap was really permeating into mainstream. Reaching that sort of success at that time without even touring for their biggest album was unheard of. I'm not the best at writing but what I'm trying to get across is the 'stunted growth' narrative is not completely correct. I get the sentiment because after many years of teasing a solo body of work, he never really did it. And that's okay, it's time for people to also appreciate him for what he is and where he is. It's not impossible but I think a true fan would really appreciate all he has done over the years instead of try to bring him back into a musical landscape that is 100% different than it was when he was really active.
      He has felt that way for 20 years, he said it in a lot of interviews. He also wanted to explore other genres of music. TLB wasn't even a hip-hop album, for example. He didn't want it to be one. Hey Ya also wasn't even supposed to be the first single, and a lot would be different if it wasn't. It also was supposed to have Killa Mike on it..
      We have to communally let Andre 3000 be. And as a unit, really respect the duo of Outkast for really changing so much of the game by being as great as they* were. A lot of people try to separate Andre from Big Boi, but I assume a lot of that is age and the fact that a lot of people who like him know him from the last ten years or for Hey Ya. Not so much what most of his core fans would say was his best work (those who have been listening to him for maybe 30 years almost).
      Yes, sure he has admitted he deals with confidence issues but we also have to accept that he has been saying this since he was younger and in his 20s-30s. That's why he pivoted into other interests after Stankonia such as acting.. fashion.. other genres of music here and there while doing features after SB/TLB dropped.
      I just think this "greatest rapper of all time" is kind of generational and it's sad to see him getting dragged into discussions at times by people who really don't understand many portions of his career, his decisions (most of which had been spoken of decades ago) and thought process. It's also real weird to come out of the era he came out of and deal with the internet, because he is essentially under a microscope in some way. And a lot of the fascination folks have developed is a bit superficial. I have supported Outkast and each individual member since I was also 17 years old. Same age, so yes, I am older but that's the era I came out of. It was very different even when their last studio album came out. The expectation and pressure and stuff, it's sometimes hard to work through even for the greatest of the bunch. At this point, that's why I love when Big Boi just makes music because he digs it and same for Dre.
      Andre was just featured on the Everything Everywhere Soundtrack as an instrumentalist and that's a big deal but little people are talking about it. People that are fans are not excited about when he does those things, but we should be happy he's trying and doing his best.

      @vanessajameson8876 2 года назад +2

      Also Stankonia did not go diamond, please retain factual information, that’s important to note. While Stankonia was a very critically acclaimed album that sold millions, their biggest and most commercially successful album was SB/TLB. When you reach that rare sort of success 10-12 years into your career, you really don’t need to do anything else. But because Andre was so ahead of the time, people who did not get to consciously experience Outkast in their prime or Andre in their prime (which seems everlasting), there’s this desire to keep bringing him into a discussion he hasn’t ever wanted to be placed in. That’s a lot of pressure for someone who already had a full career. He could have went quiet completely after Outkast dropped Stankonia with how big they were. It’s just the way it is.

      Super insightful comment and thanks for providing this b/c I am in my late 20s and have noticed the way people who didn’t grow up actually understanding Outkast or André 3000, just very enamored by his talent which is understandable because he’s great. Outkast was great / Big Boi is great.
