Hey listen as mavs fans were are not saying luka is an elite defender (there might be 2 or more idiots) all we saying is that y'alls past seasons assessments on luka is clouding your present's judgment on his defense. He is a good defender, he's stats are starting to show it to y'all.
on a second note, I was one of those who said Luka is an elite defender when he wants to be, the key word here is when he wants to, because he does slack in defense a lot, but the statistic numbers do not lie, He has a 7'2 wing span and he was best in the league in post-up defense now I think he is second, he is top 10 in steals and iso defense, far best guard in rebounds. A ton of players are trying hard to get to these numbers and not get them, and then you see him slacking almost all the time and he still has insane stats. So I do not have any other explanation for this than he is a deceptively good even elite defender, if you can explain this any other way I would love to hear it in your next video....
totally he is lazy, but sealing can be be higer IMO. Maybe in this years playoffs we will see supercharged Luka.
Yeah I wouldn't say he's elite but he's definitely above average. He has moments where he'll get frustrated and stop playing defense but he's not a cone. Even when he's locked in, he may have moments where he ball watches but Luka in the post is solid. If he keeps it up rn and focuses like Kai and others are doing on d, he'll be fine. But it's not crazy calling him an elite defender in the post. All around he's just above avg.
@@GinaKym I agree overall he is an above-average defender, but if you take out those games when he slacks in defense you get elite numbers
@@62528354robi agreed. I believe Luka will turn it up even more in the playoffs tho. Playoff Luka is way more consistent so he'll prove to everyone he's the best player in the world and end the narratives

13:48 Hate to say it but Luka never gets called for performing the definition of traveling. Give the boy a map and a passport at this point.
I guess we are in a league now that doesn't want to disrupt the flow of offense and remove all these new entertaining plays.
The replay showed that particular play wasn't a travel if you count the gather step, Luka was just extremely slow. He does tend to travel though. Imo the most egregious travel of the game was the Lauri dunk, it was cool but still a travel lol.

If you actually watch the nba as a whole product you would see that Luka is one of the guys who barely travels compared to other players because he cake from Europe where travelling is a actually called

Just like they miss when players carry the ball, they'll miss a travel. But Luka doesn't travel like that and this one didn't really look like it. And what does it matter? Bron gets away with travels, AG got away with two travels in the Denver game. Luka rarely travels and when he does they call it.
Dude read ONE comment above SINGLE mavs fan saying something egregious and now he is going to use that to hate on luka every game... Just stop pretending atp
