Thank you for the shout out and link!! Your photos look great, and I'm definitely trying some 600 film in my SX-70 Sonar to see how the lenses play into everything. I just need my ND filter to get here. ha ha. Another excellent video. :)
Thank you Jamie, glad you enjoyed. Can’t wait to see anything you do with Polaroid, your last shots were just stunning and your work is always impressive! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Polaroids are great for portraits, in-door (using flash) or group photography taking profit of flat backgrounds (e.g. walls). Certain landspaces or stree photography I find it difficult due to its low lattitude and dybamic range (e.g. look at the shadows on your photos).
Hello So that the photos do not leak light like 12:12, it is better to use a film protector, the problem is that it is very expensive for the function it has, it is best to stick a cardboard square in the upper slot of the camera.
Hi 👋🏻 ohhhh so that’s what that part on the top of the photos is, a light leak? I wasn’t sure and suspected it might be. I will try this trick you have mentioned thank you 🙏🏻 hope you enjoyed the video I have new ones up every week so stay tuned 📸🙋🏻♀️👍🏻
the outcast reference is right but just not for these types of polaroids. there was the old peel-apart polaroids which once developed you would peel away a layer off the film to reveal your photo. The ink would then need to dry hence shaking it to speed up the process of the drying. Sad fuji stopped making it. the colours were unreal as were the quality of camera you could couple the film with
Hey Mark 👋🏻 thanks for watching! Ahhhh I thought the whole shaking thing must have been said for a reason I just remember being told to not do it with this type. I don’t know too much about peel apart film but I listened to the “analog talk” podcast interview with Jason Lee and he talks about using Polaroid peel apart on a road trip and it was really interesting. I highly recommend!! Thank you for your insight and for commenting I really appreciate it 🙌🏻🙋🏻♀️❤️🙏🏻
I was quite surprised at how sharp the SX-70 photo's were. I only have an Impulse, which shoots 600, but I am definitely going to try and find an SX-70 in good condition now.
Hey 👋🏻 nice to hear from you again! Yes absolutely I was also shocked at the detail and the sharpness of the SX-70 film. The 600 is still great the I used the rest of the shots today of my brother holding my little boy and the detail in those was also great. SX-70 I think has something extra special about it though so I am glad to own both and have the option. Polaroid is so magical!! Thanks for watching 👋🏻🙏🏻❤️
Got my dad’s circa mid-80’s Polaroid SpectraVision which is the “medium format” version. So cool. The Impossible Project film has a very retro look with lots of imperfections and basically no contrast
@@LucyLumen if you go to my kamrawerk by Gary Bruce Bowen on FB there is a shortie there where the colour images are done on expired 35mm Polaroid. You might get a kick out of those. Thanks for responding! Cheers...
That sx-70 film is definitely worth its money, although I do like the vibe that the 600 gives off as well. I never used a polaroid camera before but those out-of-focus elements look so dreamy! 7:00 and 12:31 are my favourites :D
Hey Steve, yes definitely worth it, Polaroid is so special and getting the image straight away and having it to keep is so cool! Thanks for sharing your favourites, those two building shots are my favourite too I think! ❤️🙏🏻🙋🏻♀️
Hey Alex 👋🏻 thank you so much! The One600 is a great camera, some good features and a lot more compact than the older boxy shaped ones. Hope this inspires you to take yours out, I need to do it more often. 🙏🏻🙋🏻♀️❤️
I think we still have one of those cameras around here , I had a poloroid swinger , took a lot of photos with it ,, you had to smear preserveative on the photos , they didn’t last long though , the photos yellowed so bad
Hello 👋🏻 yes that’s a great idea but I think I would prefer to do a zine of my 35mm stuff first as I have more of that. We have so many ideas and things we want to do it’s just finding the time. I think when my son is a little older it will become easier as he will be in daycare once a week and also can play independently. Now at 6 months he just wants me to hold him all the time and needs constant attention! I love him though, he is precious. 🥰
I'm a big fan of these photos! I have never actually used a Polaroid camera, but I have shot Instax in my view camera and given away Instax photos as souvenirs to people who were curious about it. I have gotten into some kind of hairy situations here in the states, usually with older or middle age women when I've been out and around. "What do you want??" "Can I help you?" (Said quite aggressively as if insinuating something) "what do you think you're doing young lady" even when taking photos of flowers out and about. I wonder if it's just how it is stateside. At the same time I've made a few friends by coming back and giving people prints of photos I made in their location
Awesome photos from the buildings an the covered car. I think i prefer the SX-70. Nice colors. I don't have a Polaroid Camera. Yet. Thank you for the commitment. You managed many metres in height. It seems, there are many hills to climb. Windy day? I liked it when the wind blew away the photos and your partner had to catch them.
Hey 👋🏻 yes I agree, the vibe of the SX 70 is just different and I prefer it but I still love the 600 and it is more affordable so I will continue to shoot both for sure. Thanks for watching lovely 👍🏻📸❤️
The film isn’t really that light sensitive anymore. They have come a long way. Polaroid never advised you to let it develop in sunlight but hiding it instantly from the light isn’t particularly necessary now but old habits die hard I suppose, lol.
Hey thanks for watching. I just didn’t wanna risk it and give them the best chance of turning out as it’s such an expensive film to shoot, so put them in that box ASAP away from light. Thanks for the info though.
Hi Lucy. Don't worry. We all are unfit, when we have to climb so many hills in a short time. By the way. You really have nice landscapes, architecture, gardens, views and beach locations in your area. Seems a nice place to live.

i love my Polaroid OneStep+. the results are rich, yet dull, which i love about Polaroid, it gives a moody tone. i also love FujiFilm as well for more convenient times, like a little party. it’s contrasty, even more than SX-70. the only thing i like better than Polaroid is it’s consistency, Polaroids is more sensitive to both light and temperature than the FujiFilms line of film. ESPECIALLY during the summer currently, the humidity and UV index here is not helping the temperature in the east coast of the US
Hello 👋🏻 thank you for this awesome comment! Yes I agree rich yet dull is a great description of Polaroid film and definitely moody and nostalgic. @@LucyLumen i actually owned an instax mini 9! instax film is very bright and punchy, almost always accurate color. the skin tones are amazing, and the colors really pop. the sensitivity is MUCH reduced since FujiFilm still uses their old and perfected formula, and they took out any harmful chemicals and replaced it with alternatives. if you want a convenient camera, get a mini 11 or SQ1. and for more advanced cameras, go with the instax 70/90 or SQ6
Bought a sx70, immediately sent it out for refurbishment and so you can use film without the batteries in it. And you plug in a battery where the flash goes.
Sx 70 film is like shooting 200 or 100 film with a 35mm. Best for outside w sun . 600 iso film is above the 400 film ISO. 600 film can be for fast moving shots , flash, little concern to none w camera shake because of the speed.
