    Imo Neil Young is the most underappreciated artist of all time. He has a following of course but I think he deserves so much more recognition

    Harvest Moon is one of my favorite Neil Young songs. Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton's rendition of After the Gold Rush is stunning.

    Old man needs to be higher, like #2. Rockin in the free world also needs to be higher. Heart of Gold is #1. Ohio is criminally underrated and should be top 10.

    "After the Gold Rush" took the top spot? Like, I'm not saying it's a bad sign or anything, but that's an odd choice for #1. I think "Down by the River" and "Cortez the Killer" both deserved to be on the list, as opposed to honourable mentions.

    I've always like Neil Young songs, but never owned any. Just gone on to iTunes and found his greatest hits album for £5.99.

    I saw Neil Young 5 times in the 60's and 70's from Woodstock to the Fillmore East to Carnegie Hall and every time he was just amazing. i love Neil Young.

    It amazes me how many songs Neil Young has and yet he doesn't have a song I can't enjoy while listening to. Neil Young is an artist that after you love him, you love him your whole life.

    "After the gold rush" is such a beautiful song. Good imagery and thought provoking lyrics. With a good past- present- future format. Great list great artist.
    Btw check out "Long May you run" very underrated song about his old car. We all have that one car we got rid of that was filled with memories and joy.

    Whoah, I REALLY expected "Old Man" to be no.1. Also really great song by Neil (and my favourite) is "A man needs a maid". This song is full of sad feelings and the melody is really stunning.

    Great list.
    Any 10 songs by Neil Young would have been great, but I love this selection. It was hard to guess which song would come up next.
    I was momentarily a bit frustrated when After the Gold Rush, my favorite Young song, didn't show up even in the Honorable Mentions list ... and then the first piano notes came up.

      Quick question: What's the source of that clip? All of the live versions I've found say "...twentieth Century" or even "... nineteen eighties". This one has the original "...Look at Mother Nature on the run in the nineteen seven-ties."

    I found “Gold Rush” to be unsettling, even to this day. Neil Young is a great performer. I saw the vlog of "Heart Of Gold" and just kept hitting the repeat. Sweet.

    I am very pleased you included LIKE A HURRICANE as it had no commercial appeal, (too long). Writing you from that sleepy little town in Ontario, it is a favourite of many Neil fans I know. It is #2 on my list, the 1st being A Man Needs a Maid. Good job MOJO!

    Neil has put out varied and usually awesome music since I was in high school ( now 63 ) and it would be difficult to choose 10 for me. We all have a song that takes us back to some memorable event .... and those cant be beat. ( It also depends on if you play guitar or not ) Neil young has written the soundtrack for my life. Thrasher , comes a time , long may you run , old man , campaigner , four strong winds , southern man and anything from " After the gold rush " .

    Thanks for this video! My mom works for Neil's manager and she actually sees him quite often. I've personally never met him but my mom says he's nice and that he loves her huevos rancheros.

    Man, they just don't write songs like Rockin' In The Free World anymore. I wish something that deep yet so thrashy could break into the mainstream, but instead we have to deal with songs like Old Town Road and You Need To Calm Down topping the charts instead. How far have we fallen? My second favorite Neil Young song is Down By The River, in my mind it perfectly encapsulates what life might be like for the small minority of people living in the sticks.

    A lot of people misunderstand the Sweet Home thing. Lynyrd Skynyrd were fans of Young, they just felt that southern man was labeling all people in the south as racist, as opposed to the minority. There isn't any bad blood between the two and the whole "feud" was made up by the media.

    I literally cannot believe that the song "Harvest" or ANY song from "Harvest Moon" isn't on here... "Harvest", "From Hank to Hendrix", "Dreamin Man", "Unknown Legend", "Natural Beauty", and "Harvest Moon" are my absolute favorites. I really can't believe none of them are on here. 😩

    My personnal favourites are down by the river and cowgirl in the sand but it's hard to make a top 10 out of Neil young songs and make everyone happy.
