SM is experimental so we'll probably never see this concept/aesthetic again. also the concept is based on their lore so it'll continue to change according to the lore
I hate to push Girls out of the top spot for my favourite Aespa title track, but they outdid themselves with Drama. I feel like Aespa are driving away from their typical AI concept now, to a concept that they can define themselves with. Don't get me wrong, their initial concept is very cool and amazing, but it's nice to see them driving away from that and just giving us a cool dark concept.
Yesterday i saw a video of Kess and Han talking about the whole Kwangya lore. Mainly aespa focused but its really conected to a lot of SM artists like RV, Seulgi debut and Key. It is 1 hour long but pretty interesting if you wanna check it out
They had this comeback during one of the busiest times of the year. There's so many groups and artists having comebacks now. But I think they're doing great.
Would still love to hear about your aespa concert experience! I also agree that is one of the best shirts from the recent tour. As for interpretations I thought a video by Doyouram -everyday k culture named "aespa Drama MV interpretation" was interesting
THANK you the interpretation in that one was great and really helped answer a LOT of questions (for me anyway.) I'm a lore hound so this stuff was like candy for me
My opinion about the individual teaser is: 1. Giselle is representative = Drama (i mean the real drama, they fight and emotional) 2. Winter is Psycho 3. Ningning is Romance 4. Karina is action movie So i believe they were create some kind of drama .. So in my opinion the MV and the individual teaser doesn't match .. they were just showing the Drama. heheh peace out ✌😁
Who's the new villain we know that black mamba was defeated and the fighting will never end lol thank you for reaction this comeback was amazing and I'm realized the AI was not here 😂
Not their best song and as a fan I'm disappointed with this title track. It sounds like SM bought one of YG's lazy Blackpink songs. Just another repetitive, run of the mill, cliche girl crush kpop song that's catering solely to the western market and completely ditching the K in Kpop.
I understand you, that's how I felt with 'Spicy' at first. However, I’m certain 'Drama' is not for the western market. The trend in the western music scene is synth retro pop music that is more chill. There’s lots of artists and groups conforming to that style of music to appeal to the western market. I haven’t heard a girl group release a song as dramatic as ‘Drama’ in a while cause the majority of groups are releasing the easy sounding pop/retro music. Also in terms of concept groups are deviating from girl crush and are moving towards Y2K concept. Which I think aespa tried to do that with 'Spicy'. But they went back to girl crush for ‘Drama’ which I like because there’s an influx of Y2K concepts and seeing a group do girl crush again is a nice change. I do agree that there are lots of groups and artists that are ditching the K in Kpop and are trying to appeal to the western market which breaks my heart. But with this comeback aespa doesn’t do that. I’m sure aespa will continue to change their sound and concepts as they grow as artists. We gotta see what they’ll do next, I hope they stay true to themselves and do their own thing regardless of what’s trending.
LMAO... YG/TBL wishes they could write/release a song this good. As a sidenote, I think it is important to realize that "Spicy" was the first title track for aespa that Yoo YoungJin wasn't part of. I am not trying to take away from the numerous other people that have created/still create songs for SM, but when you look at all the works he was part of, I honestly believe his creative presence is going to be sorely missed. I do agree though with both of you that groups are abandoning the K in Kpop, and frankly it's tragic.
they really outdid themselfs with Drama. I really hope Aespa stick to this concept/aesthetic for the future because this is epic and majestic.
Yes!

their BEEEEST title track (still big respect to miss Next Level). Not their best album though. The songs are not that coherent or all over the place.
If im not mistaken there choreographer is redlic of maniqueen..
