      @@timnotbrianmay You aren’t Jesus and neither am I. Be who you are. We aren’t all supposed to be a bunch of Jesus clones lol. Certainly would be a bad fit for a guy who tends to be a hermit like myself. Walking around Preaching would make me angry/depressed and everyone else too since I’d be bad at it. I’ve thought about that a lot. Doing what you’re good at instead of trying to make yourself be something you’re not. Run if you like. Stay home instead if that’s you. Don’t let fear guide/rule you however.

    I love that Adam doesn’t overplay. It’s never about “look what I can do!” It’s always about the song and what sounds musical.

    Love the line about being "reactive or proactive"... that's a gem! Especially since it can really work either way depending on the musical situation. Solid video, Adam & Rhett!

    This lesson is awesome. I love the beginner section. 'Don't move.' The breakdown of the progression and where you 'could' go, but don't have to, was really helpful.

    As @adamlevy explained to stay in the b minor box a little longer, it’s so you can learn how to use all the individual notes and learn to put multiple notes together you move gently over the phrasing with attitude!

    Adam s the Yngwie of slowness. One chair and a lamp in a gymnasium. Our sense of space is engaged when you play. Tasteful execution is a must. Great take on the track guys.

    Nicely done. I would add one thing - learn the vocal melody and start there. I know both you guys do this. Of course if it’s a backing track there is no vocal melody yet. In that case try to think like a singer as you solo putting in breaths and the like. Maybe this is for a more advanced player. Also for more advanced players jettison the “box” idea. Once you’ve really learned your scales, etc. try to “hear” what you want to play and let your fingers do the rest if that makes sense.

This video was a huge eye opener as far as playing around the chords of the progression and jumping into the anticipated chord two beats early.     Thanks for posting this lesson. I'm definitely still most comfortable at level 1, teetering into level 2. But I have had fun trying my hand at the ideas behind level 3. It's an approach I had never considered before.

    Level Two: on string ② bend the F# note up a 1/2 step to the G note for the Em chord - Bonus Tip - vibrato between the F# and G notes

    If the chords change slowly, follow the chords! If they change quickly, stay in the tonic! And, don't be afraid to use chromatics, either sequentially, or non-sequentially! Work ACROSS The chord changes, and think melodically! Just go and listen to virtually, literally EVERY solo and fill that Brian May has ever recorded!!!!!!!!!!
