Anyone who has enough braincells can really make out that Rafa is truly the best.
His peak was sandwiched between Federer's and Djokovic's, he never got his time to statpad where no other goat was there to stop him. Even after that he got 22 slams is beyond me, with all of those chronic injuries too.
Djokovic only has the stats on paper, but anyone unbiased who has the knowledge of context in tennis truly knows that deep inside, Nadal is not only the GOAT but the biggest 'what if' too.

Rafa's best and nole's worst slam, RG, 10 matches (56%, 31% units more than expected), 8-2 for Rafa!
      Nole's best and Rafa's worst slam AO, 2 matches (11%, 14% units less than expected), 2-0 No1e
Rafa's second best and Nole's second worst slam USO, 3 matches (17%), 2-1 Rafa
      Nole's second best and Rafa's second worst slam W, 3 matches (17%), 2-1 No1e

Who is the GOAT depends on your criteria. If it is titles and weeks at No 1, it is Djokovic. If it is sheer artistry, it is Federer. If it is grit and court presence, it is Nadal. I think "greatest" implies a qualitative element beyond mere statistics. Is it the person who "transcended" the sport? If so, which of the Big Three achieved that?

@@mysticnomad89 Even Novak had elbow issues between 2017 to early 2018 when Frauderer vultured those three slams and that too beating a blister footed Cilic at Wimbledon. LoL 😂😂 As though injury counts only for Fedal..
Tennis is a very brutal and gruelling atheletic sport where injuries are very natural. The real hallmark of Greatness is being fit in such a taxing sport and that is why Novak is head and shoulders above both Frauderer and Nadal who are masters of frivolous excuses to wish away their defeats.
Frauderer missed playing only 4 slams in his entire career and three of them were in French open by his own volition since he knew his chances were zilch. Nadal, just being a year older than Novak has played in all French open except 2016 when he withdrew from second round and 2023. Novak in contrast has played in all French open, his weakest surface, throughout his career. So who was running away from whom is very clear by this simple statistic.
Novak also was unjustly disqualified in 2020 US open, wasn't allowed to play 2022 Australian and US open & forced to withdraw from 2024 French open and played Wimbledon with one leg to still reach finals. LoL 🤣 🤣 🤣
And so called Prime Frauderer was destroyed by Nadal time and again and going by your logic and excuses galore, it is 35/36/37 year old Frauderer beating so called weak Nadal.
So called injured Nadal won 6 French open, two US open and 1 Australian between 2014 to 2023. He was world no. 1 between 2019-20 and 2022-23. So all these injury excuses are h0gw@sh in the light of facts and Nadal won all these competing against the so called weak next generation players. Frauderer was 2-5 against Theim, 3-4 against Zverev and even 2-3 against Tstispas. LoL 😂 😂
It is weakest era vulture Frauderer who won just 3 between 2014 to 2021 (3 that was won when Novak had elbow issues) who couldn't just cope up with real competition that he didn't experience between 2003-2007 in the weakest era in tennis history. LoL 😂😂

I think everyone is entitled to their opinion on who is the Goat but we all need to have one key parameter to measure it and it is the grand slam. Novak is the undisputed GOAT then. Tennis is an individual sport it is not like football or basketball which is obviously a team sport. MJ is considered the greatest despite only win 6 compared to Bill Russel. Leo Messi is considered now as goat soon after winning the world cup despite he only won it once and also has less champions league medal compared to Cristiano and even guys like Benzema, Modric, Kroos, etc.

I do not agree with the core principles of this research (if one can call it this). The methods that are used are not logical.
    1) Relying on H2H is intentionally disregarding the whole body of work and concentrating on the stat that is preferential for getting a desired result. Nadal in this scenario is awarded for losing earlier to the lesser players and not making it to the showdown with Federer early (before 2008) in HC Slams. The same situation with not making far enough to meet Djokovic in HC Slams more frequently after 2014. The same argument goes against concentrating on three most common opponents: why limit it to three? Because it gives the desired result? IMO in such researches the results against the whole field shall be analyzed.
    2) Getting brownie points for competing less due to injuries is a perverse logic. Nadal's style, which gave him his success is the reason for these injuries. Being fit is a part of being good. Very significant part. So I consider him competing in less slams a main reason why he is 3rd best in this trio.

    • @TennisTenacity-cq7dg
      @TennisTenacity-cq7dg  20 дней назад +1

Good points! There are arguments for all 3. It’s an interesting debate. Nadal beat Djokovic more in grand slam events and more in grand slam finals. Therefore I’m the biggest events that are best of 5 sets Nadal is better than Djokovic in head to head matches. Those are facts not opinions.

Nadal leads all time in grand slam meetups with Djokovic 11-7.

Nadal defeated a prime Roger Federer in 2008 and took prime Roger Federer to a 5 setter in 2007 and a God level federer to a 4 setter in 2006. On the other hand, Novak Djokovic struggled to beat 35-38 year old Roger Federer (2015-2019)
Prime Rafa defeated the greatest 1 and 2 (federer and Novak) on their favourite
Hard court players in their prime. AO 2009, AO 2012 vs Roger and US 2010 and 2013 vs Novak. Where as Roger and Novak couldn’t beat Prime Rafa at Roland Garros.
Nadal missed 16slams due to injuries and still won 22slams means that without all that he would have won atleast a 10 more slams.
And when Nadal was in the draw there were times when he had to retire or loose the match because he was injured.
    USO 2018, AO 2018, RG 2021, Wimbledon 2022, RG 2016, AO 2010, AO 2014.
If not for those injuries Rafa’s tally of slams would have crossed 30 easily.

@@TennisTenacity-cq7dg Why? As a Djokovic fan I'm by far the happiest, no one has enjoyed more success than us! My guy keeps on winning, your guy, not so much and that's all that really matter!

@takodanobaba Well said, Nadal fans are trying their best to make Nadal GOAT but unfortunaly he doesnt own any record.

@@takodanobabadude winning and stats don’t matter just enjoy watching Rafa whip exciting forehands down the line or whatever insane shots he can come up with. He has a statue outside the main court of a grand slam that can’t be said and never will be said for a tennis player who throws his racquet every time things don’t go his way.

Sorry Nadal isn't a goat material... He isn't a complete player either....... To be goat you have to master all the surfaces...but he never did..... We all know who is the GOAT its not a conversation anymore

22 slams missed or retired from due to injuries yet STILL wins 22 slams?!? Rafa would have 30+ by now he’s the GOAT by a country mile, a god walking amongst man. Djokovic is a brilliant player no argument but he’s not as talented as Rafa. For a player known for baseline play look at the stats for serve and volley and net play wins…. Rafa is incredible and has way better stats than Djokovic at the net, he’s superhuman.
