So smart to use the white glue. The hot glue leaves gaps between the blocks.
That was a lot of blacks to paint but it turned out awesome!
I use those tumbling tower blocks a lot! Those and wood beads!! I love the half wooden balls, too. Your tray is very pretty and also very sturdy with using that board as a base! Great job!!❤

Very impressive and much prettier than that ridiculously expensive one. I'd like to recreate this but might use a stain, wood glue and seal with polyurethane. Thanks for the great idea!

To speed up the painting lay the blocks side by side and in rows then paint all at once, clamped together or put in a small box, Tupperware, etc to keep them close maybe between two books whatever to keep them tight BUT NOT globs of paint either :).
Also since you used the frame as a base no need to glue them side by side together just hot glue them to the base. It can be a thin piece of wood, if you want foam board you will need to glue them together to keep it stable. I Love the two-tone! OH Hey....clamp these down and sand before painting will really speed this GEM of a project up! And use drawer pulls to make usable handles.

What a darling tray! I have never been able to find the Jenga style blocks at any of my Dollar Tree stores. Seems like everyone else has no trouble finding them.
Love this tray. Yours looks better. I'm gonna try and make this, to replace my serving tray. Just gonna add a couple of nails so it can carry food.
