@mL7 fun fact: use the tree to cancel sigma ult. It acts like Mei's ice block. If you put the tree down dead center when Sig pops his ult nobody gets lifted even if they were caught dead to rights.
I like the change on projectile speed bc it'll help lessen his healbot playstyle. But man the new speed messes me up bc im used to leading the shots far
I've mained LW since he launched and again we are targeting survivability (platform buff) but that's not his issue. The character's kit is inconsistent. Sure you can platform your team out of zarya grav or lift orisa out of her ult until you are in any tight space. Indoor points, side rooms and chokes (which all happen to be where the biggest fights in a game happen) and the characters kit just stops working. The character needs something else along side platform, give him the ability to grow a different structure that isn't platform and really lean into this hard light druid theme and then we might see the inconsistency in his kit start to fade.
I’m curious what it must be like as a lifeweaver main since he launched. I think he’s literally been given bigbuffs every season, except when all supports got nerfed. That’s like if I played doomfist and every season I just got like lower cooldowns and more damage.
@@Summonick2 its interesting for sure because you see his name appear in the patch notes you get really exited and clap your hands a lil and then you read what they are doing to him and just go "oh these are empty buffs that dont actually do anything at all" dont get me wrong some have been good like remapping his controls but some like this projectile speed buff are just entirely empty and are really on there to say that they buffed him. Nothing solves his fundamental problem in that unlike other heroes who have good maps, Lifeweaver is inconsistent and has problem areas on every single map, areas where is kit doesnt work at all. I dont like the doom comparison because like doom would benefit from lower cooldowns haha. A lot of lifeweaver buffs feel like if the devs went "oh we gave mercy an extra 25 ammo on her pistol" like sure on paper its a buff but what does it actually do for the hero.
@@jordandean507 Projectile speed buff is massive and is super noticeable, this was exactly the kind of buff the LW community had been begging for a while too He doesn't need a new ability or a rework. He really only needs his downtime trimmed because blossoms take time to charge on top of reload and weapon swap. Just because some parts of maps makes platform less usable doesn't mean there's inherently a problem with the ability, learn to play around the terrain. Find low walls you can use petal to peek above for grips. And play under high ground so you know you can always back out with petal. With any part of the map that his abilities don't work, there are twice as many of those areas where he can severely exploit like shoving a Tree in a doorway or trapping someone with petal on a ramp. LW is all about game sense and map awareness, of course it's good that he challenges the player to think about ways to take advantage of map geometry.
@@jordanleung7363 Nobody ever said anything about a rework, and yes I know all the lifeweaver tricks I know low walls he can use his platform to poke out enemies, I know all the ramps you can block people off and I know how to use map geometry and shape to my advantage to put myself in a position where I can pull my tank directly on top of enemy squishes to quickly remove them from the fight. However that doesn't change the fact that platform has a consistency issue which doesn't make it "less effective" it makes his kit dysfunctional. New junk city is a great example as I think thats one of his best maps, plenty of areas and points with huge height differences to get the full use of platform and for you to use it with your team. But here is where the difference of platform comes in. Lets say you have a Junker Queen, Solider, Genji and Mercy as your teammates and you are fighting orissa. Now nobody on your team can counter orisa ult so its your job as the character who can do this to counter her ult. There are multiple spaces on that map, and areas where if Orissa ults even 1 meter further back in a small side room you are nolonger able to save your team from her. This is a consistency issue not a skill issue. Now lets use Ana for another example, shes on the enemy team in this example. Your Junker Queen lines up for the biggest ult of her life and Ana can sleep her. If the Ana has 1 second to react or 10 seconds to react it doesnt matter as this ability remains consistent it is the skill of the player the dictates the outcome. There is a huge difference between learning to use an ability creatively like you suggested and an ability having issues with inconsistency and for the record even if your advice is dont play him on maps with small rooms or just dont use platform in chokes there are multiple maps like Havanah and Kings row that are wide open spaces however platform still stuggles with consistency because of decorations such as street lamps or shop signs. I am 100% for platform staying I love the ability, I love slingshotting myself into LOS to save an ally in danger however if hours and hours of playing the hero have taught me one thing about him its that Lifeweaver will never be as good as any other support until the issues with his consistency are directly addressed, which is why im in favour of giving the platform ability a 2nd option to allow the player to make the choice on platform or something else, and to further his skill expression.
I'm most annoyed that it didn't give ML7 an assist at 5:59. He pulled up Sojourn onto high ground, allowing her to see their Sojourn and kill her. That's helpful!
sure, but it'd be very hard (borderline impossible) for the game to tell when your pull actually mattered or not. it'd give an assist every time someone trollpulled right before an ally got a kill, for example
I love playing lifeweaver again! I think he’s fun and active to play as. And I’ve been waiting for a projectile speed buff. Everyone hated life weaver and praised Illari. But imo he’s taking over as the better more impactful of the two supports. Also I personally ship LW and Illari together. He’s peaceful/optimistic nature and her fiery/ solemn sole survivor warrior attitude would balance each other.
Best thing is how people came up with the name Sunflower heal comp for when you run Illari with LW! Its a cute and fitting name, and with these Illari buffs and possible more oncoming ones in the future if she falls behind, I’m sure they’ll both be great.
LW is still so fun but the brief moment he was meta, he got overnerfed when he wasn't the main issue...and they still haven't addressed the main issue really of Ana/Bap/Kiri (and lord knows why they keep buffing Kiri)
LifeWeaver is fun but his kit does not allow to do a lot of damage compared to other supports sadly. I wish I could play him more but can't do more than 5K if I try hard enough Also the time for switching between heal and damage is too much. Bap for example can shoot then instantly heal when with LW you shoot then animation of hand then charge the heals.
I really enjoyed him from the start, i think he really excels when your support get on board with some nice plays with the platform. Use comms or pings, get soldier high, cree etc get ana high and he can really enable so many great plays.
True but in solo Q you always end up with random people and you need to be able to carry on your own. Hard to do with LW which relies on others to make good plays
The petal platform buffs are largely for LWs trying to get out of a fight, or deal with weird flanks. I can't imagine many scenarios mid fight where the platform blocking piercing abilities would come up. And since it only specifies piercing abilities, then I'd assume it still wouldn't block dva bomb.
@@hallowedchromee310 Not many people play DVa so I haven't tried since the buff! All I know is the first time I tried to hide from bomb on top of petal platform, I perished.
@@bagelshake2744 It could be because your body wasn’t completely out of its LoS since its based on if the bomb has sightlines on you. You can still die on top of platform if you can see the Dva bomb not being completely hidden from view by the petal basically.
as a lifeweaver main im happy to see those buffs which he clearly needed. BUT, theyre not enough to make ppl think that lifeweaver can offer something that other support cant. i would buff weaver's lifegrip so now it cleanses negative status effects (just like suzu) because being a LONG AND ALSO SINGLE TARGET cooldown, it would not be broken, and can be countered, unlike suzu. i also feel that the projectile speed is still not enough to deal with most of the situations. I was hoping him to get at least, a +35%/40% projectile speed instead of what he got also, i would like tree of life to provide overhealth regardless of your hp status. I mean that tree could provide maybe 35 overhealth per pulse even if youre antied or not full hp. but obviously reduce its healing per pulse by 20 or something like that
a lot of people are seeing the petal changes as a buff, but its also a nerf. moira cannot heal you with piss thru it anymore, or coal you. teammate reins firestrike is also stopped by it.
Yeah. The petal platform buff isn’t huge. It’s very situational. But between his life grip and petal there’s alot of ults he does counter very well, and this just adds even more counters to it
I feel like a good buff will be a small explosion or boop for pull. So if you pull your teammate and the enemy was VERY low, it could finish them off. I'm talking 40 damage maxed in a small radius around the pull.
They should add a new part to his life grip. Still give shield temporarily but make it so the ally has a chance to decide whether to go to LW’s position or not. I feel that small change combined with another way of doing damage like ML7 said.
Lifeweaver dominates lower elo to diamond and masters bc he can save people from making bad plays which are quite frequent and his auto aim healing is insane on high mobility characters that worse players struggle to heal honestly hes really nice to have on your team
From what data are you saying "dominates"? Objectively the data disagrees - characters like Bap and Illari "dominate" those ranks and have far better win rates, hence LW's ongoing buffs and their ongiong nerfs.
@@andersj91 well bap does destroy diamond and masters maybe but i doubt he preforms well below diamond and i cant imagine illari does that well anything below masters since she’s completely aim reliant and takes a lot of skill to get a lot of use of, but lifeweaver is very low skill for a normal person to do well at and his kit is just amazing for the average player thats why even if the data disagrees he does good in lower elo games
I think lw should maybe be able to use petal platform horizontal a little like sigma shield. But idk maybe that’s weird and broken and unnecessary but maybe it’d be fun
i play better when i like the look of a character, and LW is the only support i 100000% like like that so it makes me wanna do better. ive stayed with him as my main since day one ! tho i did pick up Moira for when i gotta handle things my self >=D
I want to know why petal is on such a long cooldown. If it doesn't do much, then why is is on a longer cooldown than mauga run, sojourn slide, kiriko tp etc.?
Also, pressing the button again (on the new input binding) should not break the platform. how many times is that gonna be a useful option. It should just reset its position instead. Place a platform, someone goes up, you can bring it back down for someone else to use.
It is a very strong survivability option for him as well, tbf. It already lasts almost the entire Petal duration, he can sit on a Petal almost the entire game. If it goes down any more, he's gonna go from difficult to dive, to impossible to dive. I really like him the way he is right now, honestly. As someone who put a lot of time into the hero, I've gotten really good with the flow of his kit and even racking up decent damage with him as well (since the last patch, I've finished several games with more damage than my Ana, who was just healbotting. I don't think I'd out damage an Ana trying to damage more, but that's because she has very consistent hitscan damage). I've come out of 10 min games with 8k heals (highest in the lobby) 2-3k damage, and slightly less kills than my DPS. Nearly putting up "Gold Medal Moira" Stats, but with the perk of 0 deaths as well as the utility of Grip and Petal. I think with this last patch, LW is in a really strong spot if you are good at him. People see his healing blossom and think he's an easy hero, but his movement, positioning/timing, as well as techs with and creative uses of platform? Now that thorns are viable, throw those in there too; he has a lot of kit to master. His thorns are the Torb Rivet Gun of the support roster; get good with it, and it's scarily effective.
@@welshcrusade1562bringing it back down sounds super cool. But yeah i didn't like it that you destroyed it with the same button so i changed that again and use the interact button for that. It's better especially if you need to destroy it instead of replacing it bc the petal is in the way. If they were to change that to the default settings then they could make it that pressing the ability button again brings the platform down.
I'm in. I would like you to test ways for supports to spend less time healing and reduce the impact of healing on the game. Allies that go more than 5s without taking damage receive healing 3x the healing and would reduce the amount of normal healing in combat, in addition to other adjustments. For example, Baptiste could have a 3s cooldown for each M2 shot, but would heal 50hp/s for 2s. Same thing for Ana, the shot would heal 60 hp/s for 2s and the rest would go through the target and cause damage to enemies. Mercy would heal 80 hp instantly right after flying to the ally, then only heal 40 hp/s while connected.
no, Lifeweaver has such a steep skill curve, he should never be meta for the average player. Cause then the 1000 hour LW's will be completely unstoppable.
I hope this wasn't satirical, bc I kinda agree. If you're good at LW, he's in a REALLY good spot rn. The thorns change made his damage a lot more consistent, and I've racked up some crazy damage numbers while keeping my high healing. Even if all you can hit is poke on the tank before the fight, that's still faster trees and actually decent damage to pressure the tank. Building fast trees is strong too, it's such a good tempo ult, and has a lot of uses if you're creative with it
@@fizzlock no, I was being serious. I am a part time LW main, who mostly defaulted to heal botting with his old dmg. Can't play right now, so I don't know if the damage is better. But I can tell I've barely scratched the massive iceberg that is this guy's potential
@@welshcrusade1562 It's not a huge increase in raw DPS overall, but he can fight faster targets more consistently, and I have had some pretty good games where I can pressure a LOT of damage on their tank and stop them from moving forward. Lots of headshots with thorns forces a tank to stand back or die, and this change just made it easier. Petal being made a full solid insyead of this shield-solid hybrid (blocks piercing projectiles now) was also a good change. It's situational when the buff actually applies (still haven't actually had a situation where I'm hiding from a piercing projectile yet), but the consistency is a good thing to see added to his kit.
@tamooz6649 yes always, he wasnt GREAT on release, but he was still pretty decent. Maybe not in the high ranks ro whatever, but I had some crazy games with release weaver
I agree; I think if you're good at LW, this last patch put him in a really strong spot. I'm worried if they try to buff him any more, they'll nerf other aspects of him and start to water down his unique playstyle (and I don't mean healbotting). This coming from dominating Masters Lobbys, before we ask Rank. Ending games rivaling the "Gold Medal Moira" stats, with really decent damage and the utility of saving ppl from ults. I think he's great atm. Any more changes from this point on is to appease the people who don't actually play him, and aren't used to his kit. Friendly reminder that Sigma was weak on release bc people thought his kit was clunky (and that was before they added the Barrier CD). The second people got used to his kit about a week in, he became extremely strong. I think people still haven't gotten used to LWs kit, because they wrote him off as an easy hero. The positioning and gamesense of a lot of LWs Ive played with in other roles usually isn't there. Unnecessary Pulls, pulls that actually ruin my aggression, pulls that try to save me, but plant me in the middle of the open with no cover. Trees that are too late or faaaaar too early. I've only played with 1 or 2 great LWs besides my own. It's not a common skillset
Waiting for the day his secondary fire is identical to Mei's secondary just flavoured as a Rose thorn or some shit 100% brings him into a contending spot.

I'm not saying LW is the strongest hero in the role. But he can be really good if you're good with him, and good gamesense takes you MILES on him (like knowing when its safe to swap to dmg).
@mL7 fun fact: use the tree to cancel sigma ult. It acts like Mei's ice block. If you put the tree down dead center when Sig pops his ult nobody gets lifted even if they were caught dead to rights.
12:25 You didn't have to do me that dirty with the edit Recall xD
3:47 actually insane respawn assist
A skin that plops small seeds that grow into tiny plants as he walks
@@jordandean507 Projectile speed buff is massive and is super noticeable, this was exactly the kind of buff the LW community had been begging for a while too
He doesn't need a new ability or a rework.
6:10 i think we can do it , it's lock on moira 1 time but they going in front so far from LW.
3:45 omg new rollout
Nice sound effects over my impending death at 1:13 :)))
1:55 btw u can change the setting on the tree that it places the ult after u release q
LW is still so fun but the brief moment he was meta, he got overnerfed when he wasn't the main issue...and they still haven't addressed the main issue really of Ana/Bap/Kiri (and lord knows why they keep buffing Kiri)
This is not a buff, this is how he should be from the very beginning
played with LW yesterday and it felt GREAT got a lot of k1lls that I couldn't before
LifeWeaver is fun but his kit does not allow to do a lot of damage compared to other supports sadly. I wish I could play him more but can't do more than 5K if I try hard enough
Also the time for switching between heal and damage is too much.
I mean as long as you stand up on platform above the Dva bomb, it should block the damage from it just fine.
You can still die on top of platform if you can see the Dva bomb not being completely hidden from view by the petal basically.
been playing LW more lately and he’s been so fun to play with
bro the rein on lijiang 🤣🤣🤣 what a champion
as a lifeweaver main im happy to see those buffs which he clearly needed. BUT, theyre not enough to make ppl think that lifeweaver can offer something that other support cant.
i would buff weaver's lifegrip so now it cleanses negative status effects (just like suzu)
because being a LONG AND ALSO SINGLE TARGET cooldown, it would not be broken, and can be countered, unlike suzu.
i also feel that the projectile speed is still not enough to deal with most of the situations. I was hoping him to get at least, a +35%/40% projectile speed instead of what he got
also, i would like tree of life to provide overhealth regardless of your hp status. I mean that tree could provide maybe 35 overhealth per pulse even if youre antied or not full hp.
but obviously reduce its healing per pulse by 20 or something like that
a lot of people are seeing the petal changes as a buff, but its also a nerf. moira cannot heal you with piss thru it anymore, or coal you. teammate reins firestrike is also stopped by it.
lifeweaver? more like lifesaver
he's been fun to play as lately
It might be a bug since the way they shifted his kit is for his Tree to really be like an extension of his kit so you're suppose to get it frequently.
A moving petal platform would be amazing, especially uf we could grow diffrent things with the petal charge, like a wall of rose thorns?
Old symetra shield v2 lol
I wish they buffed his reload speed
LOL I watched this live and remember ML going 'editor put this in the beginning of the video to make it clickbaity'
oh he says it 3 minutes in. FINE
i play better when i like the look of a character, and LW is the only support i 100000% like like that so it makes me wanna do better. ive stayed with him as my main since day one ! tho i did pick up Moira for when i gotta handle things my self >=D
Way to go Eddie Tour! The buffs are huge!!!
I love Lifeweaver
Now time to get some breakfast and watch mL7 throw thorns aT people for a bit
At the end of the first match the ana on the team did 13k damage and 3k healing🥴🥴🥴
Lifegrip should cleanse and heal for more when your prevent a death. It heals for 20 i believe
yaaas a lifeweaver video😍
That Ana has 14k damage @4:51
I think the buffs are nice for QoL and consistency, but I don't think they are life changing. Definitely welcome though.
Why is Blizzard trolling Bogur
Mercy would heal 80 hp instantly right after flying to the ally, then only heal 40 hp/s while connected.
ofc editor didnt include the clip of me killing mL7 as LW and typing “LW diff” KEKW ❤
I still hope they reverse some of his last nerfs
no, Lifeweaver has such a steep skill curve, he should never be meta for the average player.
Hell yea. Become a Tree planter and make these nerds mad with a non-meta support.
Lifeweaver petal buff is another rein nerf
Every time I play lw I just feels like healbotting and everyone relies on my to save them with grip so it’s not my favorite cup of tea
How often does he play private games? I feel tricked
REASON 8: PROFIT???
I think Lifeweaver is almost "good".
All he needs is 2 HP self heal per thorn hit instead of 50 per dash.
S F TIER OR TIER
wifeleaver is way too strong pls buff sombra again
All of the LW buffs are so unnecessary. Sure I like them (LW is one of my mains), but they're so unnecessary as he's always been good.
Always?
@tamooz6649 yes always, he wasnt GREAT on release, but he was still pretty decent. Maybe not in the high ranks ro whatever, but I had some crazy games with release weaver
@@BradleyWerwhat rank are you
@@BradleyWer are you bronze or silver?
OMG This video was super funny keep it up king and enjoy your weekend
Waiting for the day his secondary fire is identical to Mei's secondary just flavoured as a Rose thorn or some shit
100% brings him into a contending spot.
Lifeweaver mains where you at?!
