With so many powerful red cards being printed since this video, I would love to see a revamp. I’m constantly swapping cards in and out trying to decide what I like most for Zada. It’s a really fun one
im building tazri \ zada right now, feels like it'll be fun w/ access to cards like silence to protect the otk. also have access to eerie ultimatum \ march from the tomb to recur zada
Not gunna lie, the blood moon, magus of the moon, and ruination is what brought me to Zada. I have a friend who made a god tribal, board wipes focused deck and he practically runs all gates. Another friend uses a super competitive deck only and it has just 3 basic lands. The thought of tiny goblins taking out gods and dragons is hilarious to me
I used to play “full power Zada” but when my friends brought up PDH (pauper commander) I knew Zada would be perfect. It pretty much has the same draw effects (minus like 2-3) and still gets to play all the rituals. The downside is you don’t really have as many creature generators/manlands/good cards like Steamkin but it’s still super fun!
Mirror wing dragon can be a cool back up for zada too, and is really good at protecting from targeted removal because it’s text is slightly different, it triggers when all players target it.
I tested mirror wing and cut it. It's a backup Zada taking up a slot in the 99 in case Zada dies 2+ times. The problem is that if Zada is dying 2+ times then you've already lost and should be fixing that problem instead.
Tested it out yesterday and only lost because I didn't pilot it correctly and pulled the trigger too soon, but despite all the math with the tokens and the mana and the cards it was so much fun!!!! I just made some additions, an underworld breach, tempt with vengeance.
In my build of Zada I like running some ways to win outside of combat incase of things such as Ghostly prison or Propaganda. Since you can make so many tokens Purphoros and Impact Tremors are great. Also Guttersnipe can deal a lot of damage while chaining spells together.
My Zada deck has gauntlet of might in it so definitely not budget. It kills with impact tremors or prophous rather than swinging. Main combo would be goblin slide and mana echoes for infinite colorless mana and goblins. One spell that is hilarious for Zada is indomitable creativity. Yes it sacrifices Zada, but you can exchange your tokens for real permenants. All for free.
@@harrylawson6293 Think about casting act of treason on Ink-treader or any 1-mana targeting cantrip Ink-treader increases the power of these cards exponentially

Tomer, have you not learned anything? Blood Moon (or any such landhate) in commander loses you friends. Not gonna lie- that Zada deck from that Commander Clash 3 years ago inspired me to build my own Zada, but I took out the landhate part immediately.
I agree that land hate cards might not be welcome at all playgroups. However, I build these sample decks to be the strongest possible, with no other considerations. You're free to make any changes!

I dont have removal or protection when I built zada. I went full glass canon build and its nuts if it goes turbo.

Reality Scramble is also great.
Shattering Spree is in my opinion a better alternative to By Force, because a single counterspell can't prevent all its targets from being destroyed.
Fog seems like it would do well against Zada.

I don't get why people go crazy for ink-treader over zada. Ink-treader targets _all_ creatures, so all your pumps also benefit the enemy?

Seize the Day is also pretty crazy in this deck
it doesnt untap your creatures for each additional combat step, but a 3 mana extra combat for all your creatures is still busted

Pretty sure it's a combo turn cantrip, you'd buff first
Use a spell that increases toughness first like Samut's Sprint.
