I haven't played the map yet, but i'm pretty sure that dot notes still require at least wrist flicks. Just letting them fly into your sabers will make some of them misses.

Thats the case with arrow blocks, but you can just hold still with dots, you just get very minimal points

it doesn't have to be wrist flicks, it just needs to be very small movement, similar to pauls
The shaking on youe arm that occurs naturally when playing is usually enough to hit dot notes in a row

Yeah he just does very slow movements to hit them all, also works with multiple arrow blocks all going the same way in quick succession. You can see it best at 1:55

Dots lets you choose which direction you want to cut it in while regular blocks choses it for you
