Thanks! It's the kind of thing that people literally walk past everyday, but because of that over familiarity they tend to forget what they originally referred to, including myself.
Thank you! :) I thought it would be a fun subject to tackle. I've often wandered about the origin of many street names. You can easily create a story from the diverse range of words used.
Thank you for watching! I think you can find beauty everywhere. I'm glad I've managed to make this sleepy town look fun and interesting :) Yes, I tried to include the not so touristy regions.
Interesting video again mate.....street names around Lincoln for instance tell a story.....particularly in the old quarter....Steep Hill for example, very aptly named. For quite a few years I've dog walked these, especially in the winter. You can still see the horse route they took, winding up the hill instead of straight up.
I thought you'd like this subject. I was watching a documentary about JRR Tolkien and heard that he got some of the ideas for his books from place names.
My brother lives on :Webster Mills Road"...there once was a "Mill" there...as like your street names too. That tree @2::00 reminds me of something...know what I mean... :-) Good video... 5 Stars! _-Van
Yeah, it's interesting trying to work out the origins of some the street names. They contain a wealth of information about our towns. Trees are very inspiration and conjure up all sorts of images :D I wonder how old that tree is.
I'm afraid I don't know for sure. It might be on a postcard somewhere. I used to ponder on the origin of those mysterious street names on my newspaper round as a boy. Sometimes the speculation is more interesting than the revelation.
My Darling creamofcards, Do you live in Hythe Kent? Looks like a cool place to explore. :-) My cousin lives on Cattail Rd. :-) I once found a street called Potato Hill Rd. (I like that name) Happy Weekend Exploring Smooch g
I seem to find something new there all the time :) Those roads of yours sound intriguing. I wanted to pick a subject that we literally walk past everyday but that is a treasure trove of forgotten stories.
Interesting stuff. Eaton Lands looks like a cool place to walk around.
Thank you! I might do a separate video on that place.
Another great video! You have a talent for sure!
Thanks cuz :) Take care wherever you are at the moment.
Interesting stuff Mate!! I always like your wacky, off the wall videos!!☺

It's always interesting to learn the history and reason behind the names of old and not so old streets and towns. Nice video Leon:)

I need to visit the UK. And not just the tourist destinations like London and Dover. I would visit the small villages too. It looks so beautiful.

Fascinating. But was there ever a theatre in Theatre Street?

Thanks for your reply. I take your final point, but in this particular instance I would really like to know one way or the other.
Please let us know if you find out.
I shall.
