- Grand Prix racing as we know it, in a way, started here!
This track was built almost 100 years ago and it did set new standards back then. Unfortunately, due to a bad decision it lost the right to host the French Grand Prix and it never got it back. Most people don´t even know this track even exists!
In this video we are going onboard in, not one but two laps, in the original oval circuit and also we go through the history of this amazing vintage circuit and some of the most famous crashes, some of them, fatal.
This place is a time machine!
Have fun!

Racing 100 years ago was crazy and dangerous but... How was it? What was it like? Check it out here - ruclips.net/video/vqTJWdNSC5o/видео.html
Thank you for the insightful material! Incidently, it's the second historical video about the early fast ovals in Europe I've watched recently (another one was about Sitges-Terramar by GPLaps). As far as I understand, the oval itself had never been run clockwise. Still curious if any such races existed. I.e. oval, clockwise.
Hi. No - as far as I know, they were always counter-clockwise. Thanks for watching!
GPLaps and OuraFilmes go together like hot dogs and -sherry- Port wine!
@@raffriff42 LOL!
Another wonderful presentation. , it goes to show just how much i dont know about the history of motorsports.! i especially loved the artwork used for the advertising. as this is what i do for many simulation motorsports leagues around the world . awesome please direct me to another one of these fantastic videos
Thank you very much! It takes a long time and effort to do these and I have 2 jobs so it´s not easy! Cheers!

Thanks for the info!
since the beginning of the 21th century "les coupes de l'age d'or" moved to Dijon presnois
But there is still an anual meeting there, right?
@@ourafilmes yess but NO RACES ANYMORE....🤨
I always wonder why the tarmac at the banking is very bumpy, just like Monza, and Avus
Due to the way they were built. You can see the structure. Gravity does apply and... you have that. Cheers!
Can you make one of 12km layout??
Onboard? I would love to but I don´t know where the footage is or if it exists - I mean a vintage one. I think you can find a modern one. Thanks for watching.
not possible anymore as 2;5km from hairpin "des bruyeres" to "biscornes curve" has been given to French Army for truck driving training....
18:00 Tazio Nuvolari?
No, Nr 30 was Luigi Fagioli on a Mercedes.
👍👍👍👍👍🇫🇷🏁🏆
