Faithful watcher of your channel. Had a birthday on Jan 15, 2024. Turned 80 and decided to skip yearly and head for centuries. I'm not even 1, that way. You made me a rail fan. Probably just came out out the closet.
I am exactly 6 months younger than you! I plan on having not only a birthday each year, but will celebrate my 1/2 birthdays, too, on your birthday, because I don’t know when I won’t be able to celebrate my birthdays anymore!😁
That's crazy on how busy that track gets there Brian. They was surely busy and it makes you wonder if they was changing cars or waiting for other trains to go through being the reason they stopped for so long.
Back in Ohio for the trains in Arlington Heights and some DPU's, CSX in Elmwood Place exciting train action as always, the awesome pets and the slide show thanks Jaw Tooth.🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲💨
Hammerhead forward for maximum grade crossing runner smashing capabillity. The parked train problem used to happen quite a bit in Milwaukee when I was a kid in the 70s. The 35th Street yards would be plugged solid and the Milwaukee Road would have to park trains on the mainline in Wauwatosa along State Street. This would jam up 12 crossings and people would have to drive miles out of their way to cross the tracks. The solution was the Milwaukee Road went bankrupt and a lot of their traffic dried up. Great video as always, enjoyed it much. Thanks JT!
and not just In the Village but through out the metro area. by the 70 the trains were longer, the track was getting worse. use to remind people the trains were running there long before there were auto's
Chessie System B&O 6240 GP9 still running the rails of the South Branch Valley Railroad. As of late late 2023. Between Green Spring and Petersburg, WV. Omnitrax took over operations of the short line from the state rail authority. They are still hauling chicken feed to Moorefield for Pilgrims and the Potomac Eagle still has their excursion runs. They also have a GP9 that still has the B&O markings. You might catch some live action where the SBVRR connects to CSX at Green Spring. Have a nice day.
Hi there I live in Scotland and we had a station in my town but it closed in 1968. But the good news is there is a new station opening in June of this year not the same location but still in my little town of Leven Fife. Love watching your videos your trains are much longer than anything here in Scotland
I’m watching this video on my surroundsound home theater system in my basement right now, and that part where you caught the Union Pacific leader while you’re in your truck, all the scanner chatter I can hear in surround sound. It’s amazing. Good job, JawTooth, with this recording.
That location with that very short section of guardrail looks like it may have been an intersection at one time , there is a street right on the other side of the tracks in line with that guardrail. I don't know, maybe? When that intermodal train slowed down to a crawl ,I thought oh no another hour and a half wait time! 😅 I also like your videos because you're not afraid to go off the beaten path to catch the trains. Thanks Brian.
Tyty I hope you're in Hamilton later this month. It's my favorite street running city. If you look up there's a camera somewhere on the main street used for Live Streams that lasts a half day or more each time. I can't remember the person's name, but I do remember their distinct yellow and black RR crossing sign icon. EDIT: LA Grange, KY Hamilton was featured twice this week I believe.
Always like your descriptions of cars & what their carrying. We use LPG to heat our farmhouse with. We also noticed those cars that we would call combo units that share axles making them 1 long car of 3 or 5 sections. We know that`s not the right name for them but we know someone out there will correct us. We see those long segment type of cars when we go alongside the UP rail line going to Oregon City to pickup grain for our thoroughbred horses of the living kind. We once had a horse become scared of the ground shaking under him from a slow moving fright train! He passed the train when he went to galloping! Turk was a very fast 3/4 Arabian/ 1/4 Welsh cross horse. Finally only a very steep hill we went up on a side street wore him out enough for us to slow him down. The train we never saw again as Turk had passed it by a long distance!
Those are articulated flat cars used for intermodal freight. They make it difficult to get an accurate car count for the railfans. Turk is a good name for a horse. My horse would panic if he saw a train. I saw an Amish horse panic in Pennsylvania when a steam train passed him at a crossing. The horse did a wheelie. Lol. Thanks for watching my video and have a great day!
JT, I watched this video yesterday, I couldn't really say much, seeing the trains passing that close to each other with one stopping so the other could pass, brought back some of my childhood memories. My dad passed last month, we had a lot of railroads in our town of Saginaw, Tx., We would get stuck by the trains doing this. My dad would give my sister and me different kinds of cars to count to keep us occupied while we sat there forever, waiting for them to clear away. ... THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES, WE HAD A LOT OF THEM.................. for being girls he sure taught us a lot about mechanics.
Excellent work Jaw Tooth. Cool spot for railfanning. All hail Jaw Tooth 🦷 for making some great railway videos. 🤘😏 Happy to see the pets are doing well

"What's the hurry, son?" Well, maybe it's to clear the route so that blockages like this do not happen as frequently. Maybe........ maybe not. Boy, I like that trackside view in Arlington Heights. In fact, that does it - I'm moving to Arlington Heights for a trackside home to view all this rail action. Or maybe I'll just set up a mobile home adjacent to a local yard down here in Dixie. Arlington Heights may not be so swift from December 1 to May 1. On the other hand, it ain't so swift down here from June 15 to October 15. Thanks for another great one, Brian. Love your videos.
Cool videos I watch it on fire stick big screen . Thanks Jaw tooth and Mrs Tooth Tommy Nunnally here 53 in Cape Girardeau ,MO bnsf a mile away along the Mississippi .
Sounds great! I would like to film along the Mississippi River some day. The last time that I saw trains along the Mississippi was shortly before I started my channel. Have a great Sunday Tommy!
Awesome video as always Mr. Jaw Tooth! Absolutely loved seeing the hammer head forward, I have even started calling them hammer heads. Also I wonder why that train was stopped for so long, maybe all of the tracks merge into 1? It’s a mystery for me!
Another awesome video JT man y’all stay safe out there and my little town and Southeast Louisiana. We also have a sidetrack with three crossings and when a train gets on it, it blocks the middle crossing and I’ve seen them sit there like that one did for an hour hour and a half Waiting on other trains to pass but you still have two crossings that you can cross so that’s just the way it is
That was a fantastic NS mixed freight! The locomotive leading was working a lot harder than the DPU, which seemed to be slacking 😂. Indeed, 4240 sounded fabulous JT! Another great catch. 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
For all the complaints about the blocked Crossing after the gates went up there was nobody waiting on either side. Those trains leaving town sure pour it on especially that first train. Even the Hammerhead was giving it's all. That first car proved once again heads up when around trains as that plate steel.was overhanging the edge of the car by a foot or two. Certainly plenty of action at that location and there's more than one Crossing in case you have to leave

Arlington Heights looks lovely JT. I would love ro stay in the bed & breakfast house. Brilliant having 2 trains passing each other what a treat. Hardly any graffiti on the grain train too thats a rarity. One of your best videos JT. Loved it. ❤😊👍
Great footage, have seen alot of that on the News about blocking crossings, usually crews hours are outlawed, run out, break downs,or waiting on red block signal!🛤🚂
The first NS mixed freight was pretty long JT, especially for having so many auto racks. There were also brand new auto racks and covered hoppers. In the past few weeks I've seen lots of new cars of all types. Do you think the carriers are anticipating a shortage of equipment for an increase in freight? I really like the looks of the locomotive on the second mixed freight that met them. The train meet was cool!! Great catch. 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤

From dual train tracks going on for miles south bound from Arlinghights, OH, it does not make sense why the train had to stop, if there was one track up head, not the case. I guess ether busy train traffic up ahead or there was one track out of the two not in use, for some reason. This long wait for other trains to pass would less likely happen, if they keep the trains shorter.
Very true about the shorter trains. This train could be positioned easily to not block crossings if it was broken into two trains. The problem is that Gest Street Yard is busy and gets clogged up. Trains have to wait to enter the yard
That was a rather short UP powered intermodal at 78 cars plus or minus. They were slowing down in a hurry. Several of the containers looked rather new, too, as bright as the paint was. 😊😊😊❤❤❤
The CSX mixed freight was awesome JT! Really long too for not having a DPU. The massive steel slabs they roll into coils steel and all of the lumber cars were cool 😎! The LP tankers were likely 30,000 gallon capacity as LP is quite light compared to other liquids. And speaking of the new gondolas being tagged already, I can't believe people don't have anything better to do with their time than vandalize other people's property!!! 😮 An excellent train at 117 cars. 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
Still hanging on, though now I'm facing another Life Challenge. Just going to let it run it's course. I haven't the strength to fight off a mosquito. Hope your Florida trip was enjoyable for you both.
I am really glad to hear from you Harvey. I hope that you are doing better. Hang in there and get stronger. Have to take it a day at a time. I hope my videos help you
@JawTooth Especially being bedridden more than I'd like, Jaw Tooth and my smart phone makes my day flow better. And while traveling, if you get stopped for a train, what's more relaxing than reclining back in your carseat, closing your eyes (IF you're feeling lucky), and listen and feel the vibration of the thundering giants, pulling and pushing everything we need and require, from every port of call. Thanks for your inspiring words. Blessings, J.T. 🇺🇲
I think I know why . This sitting train is very long the siding is long enough for other trains to pass so the long train is stopped so several others pass the it moves on
😅nice video, but why is evereyting from the musea closed?🤔here is everyting open,no prob at all.😅have a nice weekend, the wetter here 16c clean sky.at last after the wet moonson, lol.😂 greetz:🍐Peer.
Do you keep track of the numbers (4440) on the locomotives to see if you have any repeats, I've tried. I'm A NEW SUBSCRIBER! Plus, I grew up in Circleville Ohio, on the street across from the end of the siding where they placed the potash cars. Back in the day that was a busy rail yard and main Pennsylvania RR line servicing many Circleville business that are long gone. Great memories.
Хорошо люди живут ночь спят тихо тихо просыпаются подтягиваются и видят перед своими глазами поезд один второй пятый десятый каждый день и целый день здорово. У нас такая картина встречается очень редко.
I love the sound of a powerful locomotive also, especially when you hear them throttle up.

I am really glad to hear from you Harvey. I hope that you are doing better. Hang in there and get stronger. Have to take it a day at a time. I hope my videos help you
@JawTooth
Especially being bedridden more than I'd like, Jaw Tooth and my smart phone makes my day flow better.
Love your channel I am 100yards south of bnsf Red River sub. 10 to 16 trains on average
Awesome! I would like to see that railroad
I think I know why . This sitting train is very long the siding is long enough for other trains to pass so the long train is stopped so several others pass the it moves on
Good morning
Morning
one of the best ones you've shown
thanks!
My birthday is June 28th I love your videos they are so cool
Remind me when we get to June
Very good train video guys
Thank you very much!
So if they don't run extra long trains they could utilize conventional sidings to pass

Most of the small museums here are only open a couple times a week because they have volunteers
Cool, that is awesome! I would have loved to see what it was like back in the 70s when I was little. I don't keep track of the locomotive numbers
Хорошо люди живут ночь спят тихо тихо просыпаются подтягиваются и видят перед своими глазами поезд один второй пятый десятый каждый день и целый день здорово. У нас такая картина встречается очень редко.
Thanks for watching!
