Always liked Timex for being true to what they are.A entry level watch for everyday wear.A true watch company.What's cool is their vintage mechanical watches are better than anything you'll get from modern fashion brands like Invicta.
Just ordered the black version yesterday after seeing another review and looking at the prices on G Shocks. Really like how this looks different and has an excellent price.
This was the perfect platform to have a monochrome dot matrix display with high contrast and costumizable screen. I bet it would have selled like hot cakes.
The illumination (indiglo)light blew out exactly 1 year from date of purchase...but I still wear it,even though I've been having wristband problems.Well,one of the hidden attachment pins, hidden under the hex bolts allowed one of the bands to come undone.Which cracked and flaked after accidentally yanking on it.I bought it off of Amazon(new-green...two years ago)$31.99.REAL NICE&TOUGH WATCH!
50mm wide (per Timex website), definitely less tall... I usually don't like watches over around 43mm, but because it is not as tall, it doesn't feel that big. As the reviewer said, it's more comfortable than it looks.

I mean seriously how do you make a watch that scratches if you look at it the wrong way and have no replacement bands even though many reviews document this thing literally falling apart?

Your anecdotal story doesn't prove your point unfortunately. These are very prone to scratching. And the fact that you said the word "garment" makes me laugh...lol.

the functions don't impress me, for the size kinda underwhelming, desing is nice, if it had a compass and a tide temp

They get tons of tiny scratches but you mostly have to put them under direct sunlight and look at a specific angle to see those.

No language barrier, they are both Timex's version of a Casio G-Shock. One round, one rectangular.
