For "T," I've found establishing "Themes" to be promising. Keeps you from buying random things that don't fit that theme, so your purchases become more intentional. For example, I had always owned reusable plastic cups and bowls, and over the years had amassed different types and colors of each. Recently, I decided I needed drinking glasses, and since glass is clear, I chose "see through" items as a theme. I only kept the one set of reusable plastic cups that were clear, and got rid of all the others. Now I only have several clear drinking glasses and a few clear plastic cups. Much less on my cups shelf, now. I also got rid of all of the plastic bowls and got a few clear glass bowls (Dollar Tree had some well-made ones). Less on the bowls shelf, too. A few months ago I had already replaced all the plastic containers I had with glass ones. I found I had 3 sets of measuring spoons and 2 sets of measuring cups I had bought over the years, all plastic and some with the text worn. I also tossed all of those, and since most appliances in my apartment are silver/black, I found a nice $18 set of stainless steel measuring cups and spoons on Amazon. Now I have one set instead of five. Long story short, when you establish a theme, it may initially seem like you're spending money, but it should create less of an impulse to buy or accept random things, and no impulse to collect things that don't fit the theme and would stick out like a sore thumb. I think most minimalists have themes for the items that they have, which is why their surroundings look uniform.

This is amazing. I hadn't thought of it like that. I think i definitely have a theme within my wardrobe and living room. I will look at applying this to other areas.

Dont put pressure on yourself to do loads at once. Have a look at the 4 box method to have boxes for each category as you sort. Might help with dealing with the piles of stuff created.

Thanks. Inside feels oppressive + depressing. Outdoors I feel free + lighter. Because I am low on gasoline+ money I can't drive far until I get my Social Security on Wednesday. Last month I fell for a scam by a woman claiming to be with the Federal Trade Commission. I quickly get hooked in the spiral of thinking I can do more than I can. I don't have time barriers, as you do with teaching+ caring for your son.
