It’s a gorgeous truck and like you, I’m a chrome guy, but this is a beautiful truck blocked out. I don’t necessarily disagree with your on the brushed accents...all black might have been better. The blacked out version is a great look. As far as the black rims, awesome! Less cleaning and maintenance than chrome. I have a 3500 limited. Unless your brake pads are new, I have to constantly clean the brake dust off the oem rims. With that said; if anyone can suggest alternative brake pads, that would be great.
Powder coat rims a grey color..never wash them again..trust me I have 2.6m miles total on 3 dodge rams..brake dust will NOT appear even though it present.. Gun metal grey...
Still cheaper than any Ford equally outfitted but twice as reliable in every way ,and the interior is only a 10 compared to the three of the Ford on a scale.
@@AmericanSurvival001 the engines are better but good luck with their transmissions. Grandma has an 80s 3500? with 230,000 miles. 3 transmissions. The engine runs so smooth still though!! Gets well over 20 mpg highway still
I bought my 2020 3500 dually 9 months ago. Laramie longhorn package with the HO Cummins and Aisin. I absolutely LOVE the truck. It also came with a 50 gallon fuel tank on my particular truck. It pulls my 42’ fifth wheel with ease.
JD the truck looks dam good. My opinion is that i would take the black wheels over all the shiny chrome stuff any day. I also really like the blacked out trim. Its gives the hd truck a newer more up to date look. Of course my superduty was bought before ford was doing a sport appearance package on the aluminum body, so i have had to do some getting rid of chrome. I don’t care for the superduty’s excessive chrome. One main reason I don’t like the shiny finished wheels is the superduty is really good at turning your shiny chrome wheels into some dirty brown wheels with all the road grime and brake dust, so you end up having to wash wheels quite often. I went to a black, flat finished wheel and hardly ever wash them, simply because it takes a long time to actually look dirty.
I agree! Beautiful truck! The remote control for the convex mirrors are a great feature, especially considering how the mirrors flip up for towing wide trailers! I also agree the Ram interiors are the nicest, especially in the brown colors.
Man that's a beautiful truck, I have a 2016 ram 1500 and this one is definitely going to be my next step when I'm ready (and the money) for an upgrade.
I special ordered a 2021 1500 with the trailer package and it came with 4 additional TPMS sensors for the trailer. I have never seen that happen before but I love it! Great video.
@ Todd Konitzer : I opted out of the factory air leveling on my 2017 because they hadn't worked out all the kinks. At least that's what the dealer told me. I installed the Airlift kit and couldn't be happier. I'm curious to know if they got all those kinks worked out yet or not.
@@TrailTrackers i don't have factory air bags... I have AirLift and no problems at all.. my first Ram and first dually... I am super happy with everything on this truck... especially the camera system and tow set up with exhaust brakes..

I do agree with you about not having a sun roof, had a sun in my 2004 Harley Davidson f250 superduty and after it froze and didn't want to close had to take apart and put back together with it permanently staying shut, I can do without.
We had one of these at the FD where I work. Not in this trim line but almost the same. It was constantly in for repairs over 6 years. Engine work done, check engine light constantly on, 2 rear end gear replacements. Body was completely rusted through around the doors in 6 years.

The wheels look more like the plain old factory wheels. Maybe if they had more brushed aluminum on them to counter all the black. They just don’t look as high end as they should for a truck like that. I’m not a fan of a sunroof either.
I had a 6.7 ford switched to a 6.7 ram for the megacab. As far as towing they both do a fine job. The ford felt like I was towing with a hot rod and the ram feels like your towing with a Peterbuilt. Its all personal preference I loved my ford but I love my ram.
BTBV colors right there. Nice color match for your cargo trailer. Lower or adjustable ride gives more clearance from the bed rails. Looks like the hitch plate is also near level to the bed rails. Glad they make it easy to get a 5th wheel hitch that matches the tow rating. Still no switch to put the mirror up and down. I prefer buttons on the center stack. I guess more of the younger upcoming buyers are used to navigating touch screens. Yes I still use a flip phone. Nice review.
As always, a great video. I happen to have taken delivery of the same exact truck back in April with the exceptions of it being white, Alcoa rims, and a sunroof. If you are looking to purchase one, I think it’s a great choice, however there may be something that you may want to consider. I do not have air assist, but have the factory leafspring pack that I have modified, then with the capacity that I lost, I made up for with a set of firestone ride rite 7500 pound airbags, and an onboard compressor. When I was doing my research into the air assist, I quickly became aware that I would be held to the factories parameters as far as psi, I wanted my own control. The other thing that I did too wet to improve the look, was got a set of hub centric wheel spacers to push both of the duals out and make them flush with the outside of the fender. It pulls like no other Cummins that I have previously owned,
I just sold my Ram Dually and ordered a 2021 F350 King Ranch. I had no issues with my Ram I just couldn't pass up the offer I got for it. I ordered the Ford because I wanted a long box and Ram has a smaller crew cab and the mega cab only comes in a short box. It came to transmission 10 Speed instead of 6. And the stock power rating. Ram without a doubt has the nicest interior!!
I agree that something like brushed nickel colored rims would look better than black. The black rims look like someone who lost a hub cap. Also they should have used black door handles. I love the air bag option, something I wished Ford had as an option, considering they added a 2 inch lift block on the 2017 - 2019 dually pickups. I am surprised Ram doesn't have they 10 speed transmission like Ford. Your comment was "spot on" regarding the adjustable mirrors.
Good entry level review of the truck. The blacked out look is the Night Edition package. Air leveling system bed lowering mode is for hooking up and cancels at speed. On the HD trucks, it will lower at most 1". There is an Alt Trailer height (also 1" lower) to level it and take out the rake but requires ~600 lbs in the bed/on pin to activate. That's it, it otherwise it auto-levels. There is no real adjustment (I own a 2020 3500 HO SRW with air). P.S. The cluster gauges center section is highly customizable as is some of the 12" Uconnect - bottom row buttons and apps can be moved around.
I have a 2004 Dodge 2500 5.9l they I will have to see if I can adjust my convex mirrors. I much prefer the simplicity of my simple dash with 3 knobs which is very easy to change without taking your eyes off the road.
Luv mine, pretty much same options and drive train. Luv my mopar 5th wheel. When I ordered my Laramie I ordered the standard front bench seat. Best thing ever. I can seat 6 adults yet have bucket seats, armrest and cup holders.
that is a beautiful truck. I totally agree with you on the sunroof thing. I had a truck in AZ that had a sunroom and the drain tubes all cracked due to the heat. Now that was a 2006 truck, but still. that was bad enough to make me never want a sunroof again.

Now I had chrome on it before and it pitted so bad it drove me crazy so I sold them and bought the Fuel wheel, now I love the look of my truck. Now on the brush chrome I'm so sure about because finding one that I would like, I haven't seen one yet. Great video sir this truck I would love to have one but maybe one day.
I've never been a fan of the black-out look. I lean more toward the chrome accents. I bought one of these 2021 Ram 3500 Laramie 4x4, but in silver. Under load, I loved it! It was a bit harsh for my wife when running empty.
I've spec'd too many class 8 highway and oilfield/logging trucks for fleets, so I have a bias towards commercial trucks. I just prefer the frame, brakes and higher weight capabilities of the 5500. Add a hauler body from Luxe with and air ride hitch, the Kelderman air suspension front and rear and the Limited package and I'm in. Any bigger and we're into M2's or straight up class 8 trucks. Forgot the rear end choices are commercial grade and built for mountain hauling as well.
I only generally like a few 80's and early 90's sports cars in red, on trucks I generally white through to black with the metallic greys in between being the most aesthetically pleasing.... But, then I saw a Dodge Ram dually like this, in the flame red with the night edition package and it just looks amazing! Although I do like it with the black wheels, I would be interested to see a lighter colour on those with everything else still blacked out, that would probably be the best looking 1-tonne I've ever seen.
1:10 Regarding the wheels. I love the black wheels & am really happy Ram brought them back in mid-late ish 2019&2020.. After 2011 Ram took a 9 year hiatus from blacked out DRW wheels. Back then tho I believe they were only available on the base model.
I hope that Ram added a heating element for the bottom mirror in the 2020 models. We use these trucks for snowplowing and you use the bottom mirror a lot for this type of work. The top mirror melts off great, but the lower is usually iced up and not usable. It is very annoying and can be dangerous not having visibility in both. I have a 17 with the max tow package and I really like it. Air bags and exhaust brake are my favorite features.
That would be my dream truck. Just absolutely love everything about that Ram 350 . At one time I was spectacle about the black out myself. But its starting to grow on me. But today's generations more are going the black look instead of chrome. I always was a Ford person myself. But Dodge has really pulled ahead of their competitor's on style and technology. Just love the interior and the exterior. Thats just a absolutely beautiful truck ! Me i think the wheels would look better if they were a high glossy look.
I am another Ford guy after 10 months of wait, jumped the ship to 2023 Ram 3500 Limited HO 6.7 DRW Night Edition and Auto Air Ride suspension. . With Ram, I will have lot less to upgrade.
I owned à 1989 12 valve, 4x4 wd250 ,03 3500 dually à pile of junk and à 2021 3500 4x4 single rear wheel long bed. The first truck and the 2021 3500 4x4 great trucks. 32 years of ram trucks.
The black wheels are part of the night edition package as well as the body color grill. If you like the truck without the Wheels you can get the Laramie without the night edition package.
I'd do the wheels in all black, no chrome or brushed accents here 🤣 I think it looks longer because of the more organic shape of the dually bed, it shows a reflection across it.
I love the blackout wheels😍

I LOVE this truck, but just different color, great review.
I like the blackout look
1:10 Regarding the wheels. I love the black wheels & am really happy Ram brought them back in mid-late ish 2019&2020.. After 2011 Ram took a 9 year hiatus from blacked out DRW wheels. Back then tho I believe they were only available on the base model.
7:00 Ram has used “nexen” for at least 8 years.
The wheels are perfect!
Love the rims and the color!!!!
Great truck! I prefer the blacked out look
I owned à 1989 12 valve, 4x4 wd250 ,03 3500 dually à pile of junk and à 2021 3500 4x4 single rear wheel long bed. The first truck and the 2021 3500 4x4 great trucks. 32 years of ram trucks.
Love the black wheels!!!
Had my f 450 wheels powder coated
I love the black rims and no sunroof!
If this truck were White or Silver, WOW!
Love the black wheels.
The black wheels are part of the night edition package as well as the body color grill. If you like the truck without the Wheels you can get the Laramie without the night edition package.
It's red. Confess! You already bought it!!! :)
Love the look of this truck. The wheels look great in black as does the trim. Needs a sunroof lol.
I'm old school, white or silver paint with chrome everywhere 😁
I love my 09 dodge, but this truck makes my mouth water!
I'm leaning more to the blacked out look. Looks nice.
I'd do the wheels in all black, no chrome or brushed accents here 🤣 I think it looks longer because of the more organic shape of the dually bed, it shows a reflection across it.
